I have Interlux Ultra with graphite added, but got about the same lifespan...

The Vivid w/graphite does look sharp on Tigers

Clew -

Sounds like you know someone who is using one in SD. Can you inquire as to supplier, model, draft of boat.

I recall seeing a number of them in Long Beach by Boat Liner.

Thx

Phillip

we just put vivid white mixed with graphite (for hardness) on anarchy and it came out really, really nice...

Got a link to the graphite additive? Sounds like something I should look into.

Both 008 & 062 are using Bottomliner (the blue bag). Great service - designed a custom bag for the FT with 10 feet of draft inside. For us, this is the best solution as we are reducing Cu release at SGYC. We count as a reduction for the club.

Yep, looks great, makes for a great bottom. Our is the same. Lasted less than 10 months (cleaned every other week). I believe PHM has the same application. This is why I am exploring alternatives.

Cheers,

Bulga

we got 18 months out of our all white - but there was not much paint left when we were done...

I have an Express 27 that may grow into a Tiger one day, but very interested in this bottom thread. We were one of, if not the first boat to get vivid white while they were still shuffling papers with the EPA. Spray applied as per instructions it lasted great. Wet sailed and pulled out twice a month for a soft rag wipedown It lasted the first year so well that we left it on for a second year. It was fine for another 6 months but thinning in the usual places. Had a pos paint this year and going back to vivid this winter.

I'm very interested in the graphite, where did you get it from, how much to the gallon and what was done to finish it - wet sanding? I was going to roll it on and wet sand to about 800, anything to get closer to the dry sailed boats!

Thanks in advance

So, Clew, sounds like you have one yourself.

Care to inform us more details on your experience:

1. Easy In and Out (not the burgers we miss so much here in CO) Seems like it might actually be easier/quicker than a hydrohoist where you still have to deal with keel in the water or a special keel box/pump out mechanism. Assume there is a pvc bow to keep the bottom down and away from snagging the bulb?

2. Cost of Unit? maybe $3k?

3. Cost of annual maintenance (assume yearly pull, clean and re-install?)

4. Any guarantees of how long it should last?

Other information to share

Inquiring Minds

Cheers,

BN
