Rest:
It very much looks that way as the transition moves forward.
I remain cautiously optimistic. I will let you know seeing that there has been so much support on this site. I owe that to you.
Christmas is on the way.

"others" in question should not benefit from future sales of FT10s until they have paid the royalties owed to the designer.

The FT project is a great thing for sure. I've got nothing against Bob at all. But those unpaid royalties are due to imperfections in agreements between HipTrader and the Yard, and Perry.

The new owner will most certainly need considerable help and cooperation from every member of the community - from Bob on down to BIAM. If you start by putting shackles and burdens on the new owner, he won't swim for long. Flying Tiger Boats LLC is good for all of us. Try to help out where you can. This may result in a wonderful class. We've got a really great boat - just a bit more organization and things will take off nicely.

Exactly what help will BIAM provide? In fact what has he ever done other than predict doom, gloom and utter failure on the FT from day one? We are all speculating on what happened and I seriously doubt it was due to imperfections, but then I am speculating.

So let's all just turn a blind eye to intellectual property theft in China. At least we can get some cheap boats out of the deal.

Actually, I know a little about IP law - I've been a practitioner since 1992. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) One thing which assures an invention 'dead on arrival' - when the inventor wants too much royalty up front. Bob Perry stands the greatest chance to make some money if Tom Hirsh is sucessful. No one has more to gain than Bob by lightening the project's burdens today so that it might regain its feet in the future.

China has struggled mightily with IP. They seem to take baby steps in the right direction, but still don't have a strong belief in such concepts. Of course none of this is our business - probably best left to Bob and Tom who will most certainly be able to work it all out. But the Tiger is too good of a boat to quit here. I hope Flying Tiger Boats LLC kicks butt.

Tom I hope for the best for you and the FT's. It's a great boat.

Does this mean the 13.8 lives?

I certainly hope that you're not justifying the theft of Bob's intellectual property.
Although I don't know what the actual figures are, I disagree with the assertion that the licensing burden has an appreciable affect on sales of the FT10. After all, it's already the market price leader.

Their baby steps are strictly self serving. They will only act when properly incentivized.
I too hope they kick butt but only if they meet their obligations. Isuspect that Bob feels likewise.
