Yanmar 3ym20 Heat Exchanger

Has anybody had their heat exchanger apart on the 3ym20, I see in the service manual that they recommend checking and clearing the tubes and as I'm experienceing water flow issues I'm thinking of having a look, I have already checked the pump and exhaust elbow,

So did you remove the alternator and then does removing the sea water end covers allow access to the cooler core or did you have to remove the whole head exchanger and do it on the bench.

The service manual isn't really clear on the steps involved

So did you remove the alternator And then disconnecting the sea water ends allows access to the cooler core or did you have to remove the whole head exchanger and do it on the bench
