We are replacing our Edson bearings with Jefa bearings (J/105)and so far so good. The next task, for tomorrow, is to remove the stainless sleeve that acts as the inner lower bearing race so we can replace it with the new one. It's not clear how the existing sleeve is bonded to the post.
Any net-wisdom on how to remove this thing? Will we have to cut it or will not other method work? We are thinking trying a strap wrench, heat, acetone, and luck as plan A.
Thanks - Eric
