The race today from a slow to mid fleet perspective - was a slow and fickle run! Lots of slop to contend with and 5-8knots of breeze.

Start had a heavily favoured end but a large wind shadow made it risky too.

Wind shut off @ 4:00pm so if you finished before that you did well.

Off to bed to battle another day!

I am in a water tight boat too :). But in PHRF and PIYA they are required to have boat plugs for the through hull fittings - ready to use - so just wondering what these boats have to do???

Great looking boats, and obviously they are fast based on early results.

Anyone know what they do with the through hull fittings and plugs required in the event of an emergency?  How do they access them in the water tight tanks??

Great looking boats and results are impressive out of the gate.

The 110 is not a dog, it is not a race boat but none of the above are!  They are all a compromise in some way or another.

As you can see, I own a 110 so my opinion is biased, but I race against 36.7's, 115's, as well as other more proven boats in that rating band.  I beat all of them, but have also been beaten by them all..........

I bought my boat because of the sprit option, makes sailing / racing a lot easier!

As for choosing which boat you want, I can say that they all have merits, but in the end it should come down to price and availability in your area!

The 115 is the fastest boat in 15 knots on all points of sail - but slowest in 5. Also ratings seem to vary.

The 36.7 has the greatest chance of OD racing and the least expensive.  Very fast upwind but very slow in light airs downwind.

The 109 is fast in all conditions but the priciest.

The 110 sprit option is easy to sail ( like 109's ), very fast in light winds downwind, ok in all other wind ranges upwind and downwind.

I will start to work around 15 knots TWS when trying to run as deep as you can.

It helps in round ups to get the boat started again in bigger breeze.

You can keep it up in lighter conditions as you move your apparent forward but it will not work under 10 TWS in any conditions.

Just my experiences,
