Met my first beach cat in college, sailed a Hobie 16 on my honeymoon, acquired a Sol Cat 18 in 1980, and a Nacra 5.8 in 1982. Raced the Nacra in SoCal, Long Beach and Lake Lopez mostly. Then work and family for a decade. Bought a 40' light cruising cat Sonrisa 1997. Family opted out of sailing, so I bought Afterburner end of 2000 for local racing.
