The chain plates are 2"x1/2 316 ss with a 5/8 pin hole and are bolted to the knees with 4 5/8 ss bolts. Im not looking to go up in size if i dont have to just want to make shore there strong enough seeing im going with a weaker wire and the boat is over weight thats all The tangs have 5/8 pins to

Just tell her its a cell phone antenna and it will be ok :D  . Thats what can happen it goes by the impeller. It seems if the impeller stops in just the right spot it can let more water in . Could you run the hose up were you have the vent hose going. If you changed the 90 deg fitting on the elbow to a straight fitting and change the angle on the other one it would look ok just try not to have a dip on the hose going to the elbow from the vent.

Zonker I looked at the photo you posted again and I mised one thing. The hose going to the mixing elbow must loop up a min of 16 inches above the water line and the vent hose be at the top. The way it is now if it is below the water line its not and anti siphion and water can seep in and fill the water lift up. sorry I mist that the first time

thanks for the replies I want to stay local buying the wire and fittings wife does not see it on the card that way :rolleyes: My local rigger said to go with 3/8 seeing I dont race and its better to be over size than under just not shore?( the holes are 5/8 and are sta-lok fittings)
