The Stockholm District Court approved a request from the prosecutor to detain Assange for questioning, it aparantly believes there was enough evidence to issue that ruling.  An international arrest warrant was issued, Assange is a fugitive after the Svea Court of Appeal rejected his appeal.  But I'm sure you know far more about it than the responsible Swedish authorities.  Since Assange is all about truth and transparency, why is he refusing to appear and address this serious situation?.  Alleged rape is not driving hammered on a Vespa, Gaston.  It is a serious offense, and Assange needs to be held as accountable as those he seeks to expose instead of hiding.  But then you know all about hypocrisy, I'm sure that is nothing new to you.

I have not followed the rape allegations, and just did some digging into them.  Seems like an odd case.  With a rape case, they must look under every stone lest they risk throwing a victim under another bus.  But it looks to me like he did submit to an interview, based on that cite.  What am I missing?

He does come off like a narcissistic creep even if what he did with wikileaks broke no laws, so I am willing to believe the sexual assault charges are not necessarily a conspiracy against him. You just never know what people get up to in their private lives, just look at Sham-Wow guy slapping around a streetwalker-who'd have thunk? I am thinking Assange will be able to hold off extradition for a long while though, from what I've seen the wheels of extradition move as slowly in the UK as they do in Canada. It's hard to see how he will be able to top source Manning, so I'm guessing by the time it gets to trial his 15 minutes will have been up for at least a year.

AFAIK a red paper from interpol isn't actually a warrant. This is why Mr. Assange is still a long ways away from being sent to Sweden.

That's a good thing that the dog owners in question are being held responsible, but I don't know if it's much of a deterrent since just about everyone who owns a pit bull seems to think their own dog is harmless right up until the time it kills someone.
