I've been doing one or two VR races at a time now for 2 years.  Sometimes as many as 7.  I have no idea what to do now.  Pay attention to my family, I suppose.

There must be something else!

Well it been a long journey back from the depths of 75,000 in the Indian ocean after I had an excursion into the ice zone and then did a Vestas, but this evening I made it to a 4-figure ranking. Let's see how the doldrums play out.

Out of interest how many people are using routing software and how many are just using the info as they see it in the game?

Looking forward to the final stint back to Vendee.

I used Zezo in the Clipper Races, but I haven't used any routing software in this Vendee, seat of the pants only.  Also I haven't lost any sleep at all over this race, I've never left my bed to change course or check anything in the middle of the night.  I'm sure that has cost me quite a lot of places, but that's the way I would prefer to play it.

+1

No options or external routing / weather info for me either. Last time I went the whole hog; custom scripts, Zezo, very little sleep (especially in the last week) ... it got old very quickly.

I think the only way Mulits will end up in  the S2H is not top down, but bottom up, where (or if) a strong local offshore racing fleet of smaller multis (cruiser racer types) has developed and a fair smattering of CYCA members are racing them.

Other than that, can't see it happening.

Unfortunately there won't be much investment in multis' on the hope that they will eventually be included. Over time, these pesky baby boomers blocking the way will fall off the perch permitting some more progressive people to take ownership of the race. Until then ... well, there's always rum.

I really don't see the point of stealth out of the top 100; we're all just battling for sloppy seconds. That said, hutspot, I'm coming after your arse. :)
