Yes, it's been too long since I checked in with all of you.
So much travel that took me possibly 30,000 miles of adventure...and that was just the last 4 months.
Back on O'ahu and thrilled to be here.
Bumped into none other than Ronnie Simpson at Hawai'i Yacht Club, and grabbed two more to race our Friday night beer can thingie on his racing machine the US101, a Moore 24.
Of the entire fleet, only 3 brave teams popped their kites, us being one of them.
Doing bow on a night like this is a wet job, for certain, however last night it was beyond wet.
Saying it was wild is an understatement.
Yes, sailing in Hawai'i is a rather daunting leisure activity.
The trade winds are insane tpically, and the swells and inter island currents make it interesting.
Before things really went crazy, we managed to get that vessel planing.... and was that FUN surfing the waves back, downwind.
I see why lifelines are important more than ever, as I was under water being cradled by them trying to GET THAT KITE DOWN NOW!
At least the water was warmer than our howling night winds of 25 to 40.
It was a blast and the cuts and bruises on my legs and beat up body will heal, however the memories will linger on forever.
The maitais helped too...mahalo Ronnie, Rich, and Dylan for a FUN ride.
All I can say about such events is:
WHEE!!!
The adrenline rush is still in my body and even all the dancing last night did not diffuse it.
Happy holidays and the best to each and every one of you!
