BOR is not a real tri in my opinion, it doesn't have a centreboard and rudder on her centre hull. With two hulls flying 95% of the time what's the big difference to a cat?

Judging from today's result, I suspect that Alinghi must force BMWO into some kind of equipment failure in prestart maneuvering if they hope to have a chance. BMWO's upwind advantage is insurmountable in my estimation...

Right. Tactically, the only chance to have a go at them is during prestart...


Now that I agree with.   The wing is the winning component--> Higher- faster upwind, lower- faster downwind,  less drag, easier to control heel so keep the two hulls flying more of the time, and if it starts to really blow, it is easier to depower.  It's been proven in 29 knots TWS (that they will admit to).


That rig stayed up for two days (and nights), I don't think depowering is an issue
