Ok, update on the slip lengths and depths at SMSA (after I went back and checked the cheat sheet):

Slip 1:  23 ft long, 8 ft depth, 12 ft beam (we can actually caddy-corner into this one, so don't worry too much about the length)

Slip 2: 30 ft long, 7.5 ft depth, 12 ft beam

Slip 3:  30 ft long, 6 ft depth, 12 ft beam.


If the T-head is open (still need to check with LG), there's another 60 ft with 9 ft depth.

No additional charges for this research...  still $1 per ft per night.

We'll take it.  We are 27 and change, only 7 feet beam.   How do we nail this down as done?   The boat won't be there until late saturday afternoon.  (not doing race down).

Also glad to support SMSA.  Do I have to show my yachtclub proof of membership for reciprocation.....(totally kidding).

The T30 got a rating hit this year.   6 seconds.  it was a 36.  So PHRF gods are doing what they do....

anyway, just curious, PHRF A2 has only 6 entries by my count in that rating delta. This is if the sportboat class stands which is looks go be.  6 of the 7 sportboats fall in the A2 delta.  Wonder what they do if there are only 6 ?

I know there are still 11 days, 12 hrs and 24 minutes left, and that historically, people wait til the last second to register, but 106 boats at this point in time seems really really low. J35 OD start looks like it's in jepoardy.

Do we need 7 boats on the line for a one design start? Because we have 5 right now but if 7 are needed then yep, we're fucked...

According to LG two weeks ago he said all OD's absolutly have to be 7.   In the past I have seen them let J29's slide with 6 but that was with local boat lobbying.

We may just keep the esse on a 30 pound anchor and take the dinghy to it because we don't feel like calling every marina in town to hear the 3 bucks per foot rate ..... "we will put you at the end of our 20 boat waiting list (holiday inn).

We have some slips available at SMSA, if you're interested.  We have two slips that will take at least 30 footers, 6 ft of water at low tide.  Access to public restrooms next door.  Shower (if you call a water hose a shower).  Lights and some limited 30 Amp capability.  I may have room on the T-head as well, but I promised that to LG for RC boats, don't know if he needs it or not.

$1 per foot per night.

(and it's 1000 bucks).  the guys may also feel warm and fuzzy about their anchor idea.  We have a dinghy and very heavy anchor for a 2500 pound boat.  I'll do some checkin.

It was like 130 boats last year.  They will make it.  Despite the economy and the freaking yards want to charge 10 per foot for "ONE WAY"   sheesh.  (Back creek boatyard).  I know there are better deals but boatie stuff isn't cheap down there relative to the sleepy boat town scene.  We may just keep the esse on a 30 pound anchor and take the dinghy to it because we don't feel like calling every marina in town to hear the 3 bucks per foot rate .....
