Does anyone know who's going to Gladstone this year. Anyone got any tips on whose going to take the honours.

That's easy, only two types of boats can win becuase the breeze either drops out or comes in so you want to be first there or on a blow home - and get the tide up the creek obviously

Saltash with a swinger...bloody hell .

How many races has it won under how many handicap systems?

What do expect when there is a special rule for the boat

What other 300 miles race has a 103 degrees stability limit

Even Coffs is 110 degrees

On my quick look at the UK regulations and IRC , 103 degrees is the limit for sailing in the Solent

Remember it is either light up wind with blow home or fresh running (not reaching)

Take the weight out of any boat it goes faster downhill

Just a joke race until it is brought into line with the rest of the world

C'mon Craig, ditch the lead mine, lose the bitter taste and get down to the man's starting line on Good Friday:

Same as you're doing now! Didn't see you out for the night race so the answer would be 'nothing'

he wasn't there due to crew unavailability.

a sunshine coast boatbuilder did suggest to me one time that the b2g would be a more interesting race if every other year they reversed the course. 300 miles se in 25-30 knot south easterlies might change the usual handicap placings a bit

still, as that bar guy once famously said "how much crap sailing is there in brisvegas?"

Hope the swing keel for saltash was designed by farr! Chances it will fall apart and sink the fuckin thing. Then you might get a decent fleet along each year as there wont be the one garenteed winner. The sydney boats might even turn up if they have a chance.
Rum Monkey
Well just to give you the run down.
The only reason Saltash is geting the make over with the canter is to keep up with what they have done to Scampy A and Wistari.
So I guess this will really piss you off TS.
Don't forget that Scampy A and Wistari have won all most as many Gladstones as Saltash. laugh.gif

Saltash! Christ's sake those blokes are hard case! Fackin' good on 'em! 30 footers knocking off the big blokes always gives me a chubby! How many B2g's for Saltash already?

looks like pest vz wedgetail for line honours - no heaven can wait and no AAPT

ScampiA was watching the girls at Manly Sydney on the weekend.Little worse for wear and with roller furled heady.

Lets all chip in, buy the shit box and burn it. laugh.gif

If only the storm that blew the mumms out of the hardstand area blew salt out as well. If thats the case that it will be between the 40 footers for linehonours than there is the proof that one boat is killing off a offshore race that has been going for years!

The only cant mod being done would be to cant the bloody oven so the pizzas dont slide out.

well that's is not right really

the only original part of Scampi is the hull (even the deck was replaced with a foam one about 1984)
keel, rudder, rig, interior, engine position all newish but still gets a 1967 age allowance as no change to hull form

Wistari has no stability (see earlier discussion)
(having said that Wistari is really interesting to look at out of the water)

they are both just better tools for the job but it is a job you do once a year and only in the one place

stand corrected (yet again!)
