  3. There are people who benefit plenty from Trump's presidency, who would be dumb not to vote for him again. Those that detest that first trimester abortion is legal, and available in all states in the union, and with some restrictions persists into some of the second trimester in most states. Those who wish to limit women's choices of birth control also should vote for Donald Trump. Those who are running or profit greatly from rent-seeking organizations which can expect higher profits from deregulation such as oil & gas, coal mining, strip mining and large water usage such as pecan

Eric Hiccup wrote, “Cruising the Persian Gulf” and Lint and Berry Nurdee offer their tale on cruising the Indian Ocean. Interlust took out a full-page ad And then there is the very helpful advice on

Paying for information is like so totally 1990's. What next, buy a book made of paper???? https://www.yachtingworld.com/reviews/boat-tests/jpk-1030-test-couples-double-hander

  7. OK. What's your case? The 4.7 and Radial were introduced to deal with weight of sailors. A new rig is an orange to this apple.

  10. It made foiling catamarans less interesting on TV? The last AC shit all over it, and were different teams in different boats. You would have to expect there to be some comparison if 6 teams are using exactly the same gear. Also short events are a fucking load of shit. 2 days? What numpty came up with that? If they were half intelligent it would be 2 week long events, which they use to compress into a weekends worth of sailing footage. No short races, no events cancelled because of 2 bad days weather. Jesus christ, like I would have thought sailors would know that the sport

  11. The 4.7 is just wrong. The Laser hull is simply too big for the rig and the sailors. No way little kids can muscle those boats around. And a sexy rig won't change that much. There already appears to be an appropriate boat for this size of rig and sailor - the Topper. I don't know much about them other than what I read of the hundreds of boats at regattas - especially the UK. China? There were 62 Chinese sailors in the 209 boat Worlds in Mendemblik this year. And China hosted the 220 boat Worlds last year. Another old class that keeps on rolling. Maybe one of these fancy rigs should be sold to

  21. "The president needs our prayers" If you have ever had any close-in dealings with a sociopath, someone with antisocial personality disorder, you know that you aren't dealing with a being who is connected with the empathy you have. To those people, empathy is a weakness to prey on. There are times when empathy is warranted and is a valuable, humanity-affirming thing. There are other times when misplaced empathy will get you killed. People need to know the difference.

  24. A friend who is very excitable about our current politics posted up an article from a left-progressive site that showed pity for our current President - not the condescending kind but pity in the sense it was meant in the 19th century, compassion and sympathy for what the author characterized as "the loneliest man in the world." There was the usual litany of his sins, but then also understanding - that somebody who grew up like that, and who has lived like he has, must be very alone and like a duck, paddling frantically to keep moving forward. Her conclusion was that the President needs our

  28. Years ago, when texting was becoming "a thing," I took my family out to dinner. My daughters were busy staring into their phones, down in their laps, texting away. I said "Guys, put your phones away and figure out what you want for dinner." They muttered something and kept texting away. "Now." I said. One daughter put her phone away, the other didn't. "One more second," she said. "Hand it over, now." I said. In a huff, she handed her phone to me, where I promptly deposited it into her glass of drinking water to drown a well deserved electronic death. My family looked at

  31. The rule 16 is silent on flaps on the rudder. Adjustments are restricted to yaw and rake, inferring no flaps but not specifically. Developing RM using rudder flaps seems like a good way to break the rudder, or at least to require it to be a lot thicker than it needs to be otherwise. I expect it would also have negative ramifications for various characteristics (particularly cavitation due to the thicker section), but maybe I'm wrong about that.

  33. Sadly, I think there are many people who do not understand or appreciate what made this boat and class so successful to begin with. They will be easily led astray by anything marketed as progress. Others seem to be blindly intoxicated by the performance possibilities of contemporary boat design. They are like evangelical religious converts who won’t rest until all the primitives have been converted. Any fool can make something complicated. It takes a real genius to make something simple. It takes wisdom and character to keep it that way. Oh well.... when you come to a fork in the road, take it

And 30 days is not unrealistic to avoid the "No Deal Brexit" since it's only a little more than 60 days till 31.10. and any new agreement has to be ratified by all EU countries. So 30 days for a proposal from BJ how he wants to avoid border and 30 days to agree within the EU. Or BJ takes the Backstop and has 2 years to find a solution.

Whether it's OD or Handicap, make no mistake it's your performance against the rest of the fleet that matters. It's time against the clock *and* the fleet. You really can't ignore that. With that in mind, Shenanigans that screw you over in handicap races screw you over in OD racing and vice versa. Things that allow you to win in handicap racing, allow you to win in OD and versa.
