  1. Christ... The crickets are deafening. Is anyone actually still diddling around on boats up there? Former bowman willing to work for beer. FLY
  2. The two closest: Orr's-Bailey Yacht Club (www.obyc.org) Just down the Harpswell peninsula Harraseeket Yacht Club (www.hyc.cc) Freeport, 11 miles south of Brunswick on I-295 Portland YC has a good program, but you've got to drive like a madman to get there in 15 minutes from Brunswick. Try 30-35 minutes. I suspect they're also a tad pricier than OBYC and HYC. Entropy, HYC is probably the best bet. What level instruction are you looking for? The two youngest classes (Recruits and Mates) are pretty much filled, however skippers (adv. 420) and 420 race have room. hyc.cc or

Is it really necessary to analyze old jokes because they may not be historically accurate? they're jokes... anyway.... We met in a secluded field, the sun nearly kissing the evening horizon. The warm breeze was full of that earthly, musky scent that only those fortunate enough to live outside the urban rat race know, and quiet whispering of the leaves in the Weeping Willow overhead added the final touch to the most romantic scene. We lay there, both naked, I knew I had to have her and have her now. Without a word being spoken, I managed to move myself to a position of dominance. I
  14. Trust me jerk, Jay will probably be my second home when the snow arrives...
  15. since everyone seems to have gone into hibernation Fly has an update to brighten all your sailing souls catamounts still have one week left of practice, we finished up the regatta season this past weekend in Rhode Island with the freshman champs. We finished a disappointing sixth place due to the damn hurricane that decided to take one of our race days away. The sailing on Champlain is absolutely beautiful in October. We were blessed with warm weather and good wind and some of the most spectacular sunsets one can imagine. Is there any frostbiting happening during T-day week? I would
  16. well dirt you have to realize that "kids" are on hankerin' and they sail that boat damn well obviously no one (i hope) is advocating for little kids to be driving...at least i don't mean that. i know of at least five amazing helms that would like to sail big boats and don't have the opportunity. kitty has sailed with one and soggy has sailed with at least three A dry cruise to disney? Only if you make it that. let some kids on your boat and have some fun.
  17. kids are sailing...they want to be sailing more. I don't think I had a weekend go by without one of my friends asking if I knew of a ride for them at a weekend regatta. They want to be sailing. Southport and Ted have done an excellent job with this... I think PYC is lacking... if you want an increase in junior participation you need to go to yacht clubs and ask the coaches about kids. The only reason I'm sailing big boats is because of Snakes and Soggy's willingness to train me. FLY -BTW UVM is now ranked 15th....
  18. carve who are you from CYC?? what boat?
  19. there is, it fills up really fast. I doubt there are still spots available but its worth a shot... try either sailmaine or andrew carey(?) i think? it's one of the J24 sailors organizes i
  20. It's great! Vermont is now ranked 19th in the country, we should be moving up the rankings next time they come out. My skip and I have shown everyone that we aren't just here to party. We'll see how the rest of the season goes. follow us at uvm.edu/~sailing or http://www.collegesailing.org/neisa/default.asp Kitty how late is the yacht going to stay in? oh and classes are going well too... fly out... stay tuned for more updates
