  1. Dave, Just read the Professional Boatbuilder article and want to pass on a Bravo Zulu (sorry Navy terminology dies hard) on eliminating plastic waste. Hope the federal government will tackle this issue - most of our recycled plastic goes to landfill.
  2. BTW, I'm getting my sailing fix watching the AC75 sailing in New Zealand. The Kiwis sure handled the pandemic right and the Americas Cup is benefiting.
  3. Dave, I saw the Sailing World article about the Rocket and was blown away. I love the UFO and the speed but the Rocket is a fantastic alternative to Sunfish or Laser. I am waiting for the Duluth weather to improve so I can get back on the water. I come from a large family on Long Island. We've had a house on Fire Island for over 60 years where the Rocket would be great. I hope to convince the family to buy one. Thanks again for the forward thinking. Joe
  4. Also have a question regarding the fairlead at the top of the mast - it's a bit off. I popped off the top - pictures below. I was thinking of removing the screws, adding some Plexus inside and bolting with washers as a backing plate. Any recommendations or comments? Joe
  5. All, Just wanted to show my repair of the hounds section of the mast. Per DRC, I squared off the opening on the sail track to remove the wedge. Then added Plexus 310 inside and replace the separating fillet. Not the most professional looking job but seems to work
  6. Dave what Plexus product should I use? Are there different products to attach the track and repair the fillet? I can clamp the track back down on the mast. Thank you Joe
  7. Sail track separation at the hounds. So went out last week in 12-15 knots of breeze and the first time I got spreader tension near the recommended 40kg. Was planning to go out today in 15+ knots until I connected the shrouds to the hound. Both sides pulled about a half inch under the track and into the fillet. Found a Nick Burritoughs post from 7-22-2019 that suggested using Plexus MA300, 310 or 320. Any recommendations on how to repair?

  9. Up here is Duluth, MN (not GA) the weather is not warm enough for foiling (ok not warm enough for me) but here is plenty of wind so just getting prepped. Question: I have several nicks/chips on the rudder foil and was seeking advice on how to proceed to repair. I have SystemThree Quikfair putty as well Raka epoxy (building a Angus RowCruiser). BTW - any UFO Foiler owners in Minnesota or northern Wisconsin? Would love to get together.
  10. Hello all. I am a new owner of UFO Foiler hull # 221 having picked it up during the owner's clinic at the end of July. I recently found this forum and thank everyone for helping a newbie like me. Dave, Nick and Kirk - thank you for advice and coaching. Looking forward to hearing about future UFO events. Please feel free in sharing my contact information with anyone in the northern MN or WI who might be interested. BTW just saw the video of you explaining landing dead downwind in a breeze and chop - reminds me of my landing the last day of the clinic. Went out on
