  1. Try looking at lip seals for rudder bearings from Jeffa / PYI they come in many ID's by individual MM increments used them on my own sprit as well as many other boats I've made in past for custom sprit installs
  2. For "drilling " a hole for 25+ years i have used nothing but solid carbide dagger bits whenever possible they are the best..
  3. My old company specialized in rudders Composite Solutions, now its Moore Brothers Composites on my own j35, my rudder weight about 12kg all up, dramatically lighter than OD version Its not just weight that will affect potential rating. Changes in area Area , Frontal area and span, etc carbon shafts can be thinner in section if longitudinal dimension is increased / large diameter lower bearing result is lower drag and higher aspect ratio . Apple to apples: a well executed carbon blade /post is about half or less.. than a glass blade/ metal shaft produc
  4. Bill I have 1. Neil Pryde w/ vertical battens dacron good condition $500 2. North 3dl carbon kevlar roll up battens, used very little, but Film is suspect due to just age (tried out last fall once was rather surprised shape and overall condition) $500 both set up for harken furler Use 3Di currently let me know if these may be of interest jk

  11. So you have hull 143? Looks like a deck-mounted sprit, is that on centerline or off-set? Carbon boom also? What gains do you feel this had made and what rating hit did you take? She looks great and is an interesting boat. sold them all off. thanks she rate 69 the same as the 109s I race against way to get to 69 is as folows: base 72 repace rudder with carbon one 18" deeper about half the chord net same area.. -1 sec now 71 added carbon rig and boom - 3sec - 68 fwd cabin deluxe full teak interior boat trim was down 2 " on bow class float line 1 sec cre
