  6. Really liking the new baking steel, can't wait to try it over charcoal in the weber or just the gas grill. Either one so long as it's outside. Too frigging cold right now. Highest temp on my oven is 550, this thin crust took just 4.45 minutes. Came out awesome. The 5/16 steel has enough mass to keep tossing them on. More experimenting needed!

  10. Looks great, nice texture. Do you run it through the grinder a couple times with a small plate instead of trying to emulsify? What did you add for fat? I've been using bulk ground pork from our local butcher.
  11. Absolutely I was, there's plenty of vehicles I'd love to own. Reality is I drive beaters. In fact I drove a Subaru Outback for over 300K miles. Would still be driving it except for all the electrical gremlins I got tired of chasing. For example the circuit to the alternator that tells it what the voltage is disintegrated. It originated in the cluster and had to go through some resistance, so I wired a single license plate light in the circuit, it worked. Not enough amps to light the bulb, just enough to tell the alternator what to do. My truck on the other hand gets treated very well.
  12. Maybe its not being "boring", rather owning a car simply as a mode of transportation. Shuttling one from awesome experience to the next. I'm in that camp, there's some I'd like to own but the reality is my suby gets me around freeing up limited cash for cooler shit, imho.

  18. Working out in the shop one day I wound up with a big chunk of 5/16 plate steel and thought why not make a pizza/baking steel. I had the TIG machine set up so used that process to stick the handles on. Took it to a local sign maker for san blasting. Seasoned it on the grill outside at 5-600 degrees which gave it a nice deep color. Tonight was the test run, I wanted to do it on the grill outside first time but the weather didn't cooperate.   19. Good for you. Where did you find it? If I wasn't headed some place warm soon I'd go look at it. If you do buy it keep me in mind for transport. Us retired guys can drop what we are, or aren't doing for any reason.

  22. I didnt know houses in Punta Gorda had heaters. The average low temp out there is what we call sweater weather.. The opposite is in my area no houses have AC.
