  1. Just a little bit of a plug for a friend organizing a regatta. The Edlu Race is a 32 mile distance race on LIS the weekend after American YC Spring Series in a few weeks time. So far there are 3 J/88s entered in the event and a number that seem interested. The OA has said that they'll give the 88s a One Design start if they can get 5 or more boats entered. Just thought anyone on here might want to talk or think about it.

  2. They're just arriving in the starting area now. About half an hour their warning gun. Needed to get refueled off of cape Canaveral because they nor up all their gas pushing to be on time. Whoops. Almost turned into the longest Vanderbilt ever. Vmg running down the florida cost looks like no much fun.

    Any info on J Boats establishing/enabling a J 88 Class Association?

its in the work as far as i know. Want to be established before KWRW15

Need one more for a One-Design Start ...

Put the D on a trailer!

  5. As long as it measures as a spinnaker for your local PHRF regulations and doesn't get you hit for having an extra sail then there should be no issue (rating wise) with having the sail.

J/109 is a cruisy moderately fast boat

    Replace it with a cruisey 35 footer = J/108 - Already exists

    Replace it with a fast 35 footer = J/111 - Already exists

What other design briefs can they hit in the 35 foot range?

Not sure I'd call either of them replacements, the 108 uses the exact same hull just with the lifting keel setup, stubby prodded/anchor roller and twin rudders.

The 111 tries to replace the 105 as a light weight fast offshore/inshore racer/cruiser.

Something like a 114 will come along as a stretched 97. It will rate well, be fast upwind, fast enough downwind and probably win a lot of stuff in it's first year in the UK, new Js always do.

    Are you high?

    Thanks.

  8. When you make a successful career out of exploiting and inciting hatred towards people you lose your humanity in my books.

Disagree if you want but that's that.

  9. Geez Lefty,

I think you've become the pot that's calling the kettle "black" Last I knew, what makes America great is that everyone is free to voice their opinion. If sailing can censor her by not letting her participate, than it can censor anyone. That's discrimination. It goes both ways..
