  1. Don't have to hike a SB3? only if you don't want to win, the rail just makes it more uncomfortable. Just imagine where we'd be if the SB3s and Vipers were built somewhere else.LOL....true Teener. We've not been able to crack any market in the EU/UK on Viper...we've sold a lot of K6's though. Just starting up the line for another round. It seems the Euro market is more dinghy prone and they just prefer different boats...mere speculation on my part. LOTS of SB3's sold though...go figure. I'd be interested to hear some of the Europeans feedback on this issue about what boats are and are
  2. I saw his body thrashing round I saw his pulse rate going down I saw him in convulsive throws I said I'll have one of those.
  3. Yeah that was my first thought. the head can briefly be seen later in the clip.
  4. Dear Hotrod, don't pay any attention to these philistine naysayers. Clearly a man capable of conceiving and executing such a project and with your house framing experience has installed sufficient bracing to hold your vessel together. I am sure that the 4 x 2’s and gal bolts seen in the early construction photos were just construction fasteners and that by now substantial bulkheads have been installed. Experienced commentators would have recognised the angular construction of the deck house as part of your sophisticated structural design and not as the uniformed have suggested due to i
  5. True genius is never appreciated during the artists life. Time Hot Rod got a Wiki entry.
  6. Well I think that with an ample supply of 4 x 2s, gal bolts and a bag of tek screws, as long as he keeps to flat water, it will hold together. Do you think that he has any idea that he has brought so much joy to people all over the world? Go the Rod!
  7. Thats a great promotional MH video, highlights all the best aspects, no crew hastles effortless speed, relaxed sailing, beers don't spill. Don't know how he gets away advertising day charters, NZ regs can't be that different to ours, and aint no way that boat is in survey.
  8. There are two Sydney 38's for charter for the nationals at RPAYC that weekend if anyone would rather race in a 15 to 20 boat one design fleet than race IRC.
  9. Keep us upto date with your progress with some photo's. Do you know whether this was the only one built? I have a build log up on boatdesign.net Kraken 25 build log I've rebuilt the main hull from scratch luckily I had a photocopy of the original plans out of scale but able to rescale quite well. I'm up to the final lamination of the main hull triple diagonal cold molding with about 1 1/2 of the main hull to finish. I also found the floats were too rotted out to reuse so I'm building a new set in double diagonal using the original float with the outer layer removed as a

  12. Anyone know what happened to Asassin? A Nichol tri that was extended and was the fastest thing in QLD before Pumpkin Eater came along(before it crashed).
  13. As a family we moved to Seattle for 7 years and shipped the boat over and played around in the Pacific North West. When George was kind enough not to renew our visas and we were all told to head back to Australia we decided to sell the boat. She was purchased by a guy called Michael Reppy whose goal was to break the record for single handed SFO to Tokyo. The boat was then renamed as Dolphin Spirit http://www.dolphinspirit.org/ and was going to be used to highlight the issue of dolphin killings in Japan..... The last thing I heard was that due to the issues in Japan this year tha
  14. The info on the Jutson 40 is in the Prosail 40 thread Just asked the same question. The 36 Nacra is that Malice ? Malice has a set of brand new carbon hulls under the old rig.The old hulls are somewhere in Port Douglas.Make Mal an offer. The Hammo boat is from the same mould as Malice but built to survey and is very heavy and quite slow. New rig is on the way so if you make an offer you might as well make a offer for the whole lot. I am sure Mal will be happy to have a second 36 to play against. Be nice to bring it back to Pittwater, can you PM me Mal's number please.
  15. Does anyone know what has become of the the old Nacra 36 or the Jutson formula 40, are they still out there racing or have they been converted to winnebago's.
  16. I may have to move to QLD. Are there crew up there? First race of the season and NO CREW available, and by NO CREW I mean None, Zero, Nada, Zip, not one. So I may have to race a Reichel Pugh 36 carbon fibre sportyacht weighing a grand total of 2,477kgs with more working sail area than a S38 and large asy kites off a 2 meter sprit, single handed. Oh Joy, Oh glee. HOW THE FUCK AM I GOING TO GET TO THE ICEBOX FOR COLD BEER??? I think Wharro's free! I didn't know that they had finally locked him up!
  17. Want to do a tandam act this year. You call shots on the Farr 40 and I call them on the Syd 38?
