  1. Alternate NOAA responded to this Meme: The clitoris has 8,000 nerve endings and it is still not as sensitive as Donald Trump. #Science
  2. The True Story of the ‘Apocalypse Now’ Playmate Scene - to save ya'll running down the rabbit hole.
  3. So Monique St. Pierre who posed 43 years ago, who'll be 68 in November isn't vintage enough for you? ...or should they be deceased or just on the verge of kicking the bucket to qualify as vintage.
  4. Whoa! Wait just a cotten picking dag burned minute! Wasn't this page supposed to start out with a scantily clad beauty.
  5. Perhaps a better question would be: Why can an aurora be seen in lower latitudes over North America than over Europe? Or why the Southern Lights can be better observed in Tasmania, New Zealand or the Falkland Islands. It has nothing to do with the latitude or geographical North or South Poles, but the magnetic North or South Poles. And the strength of the magnetic pulse that enclosed the transferred plasma. The stronger the pulse from the sun, the further the edges of the bubble penetrate the atmosphere. And form those pretty ribbons in the sky. As our magnetic shield weakens thru age, th
  6. Unlike Aurora Borealis, which is subject to extreme seasonal light changes, the Southern Lights or rather the Aurora Australis can be viewed all year round – although most commonly during winter, May to August, and during the spring equinox in September. By the same token the Aurora Borealis which requires getting as far north as possible to best see it - the Aurora Australis is visible from many places, but the best chance of seeing it, is to be as far south as possible – which means Tasmania. Great pic Olaf - thanks for sharing!
  7. The one legged skier had great attitude and sense of humor - which is an asset for amps, who wish to maintain an active lifestyle or just got on with life as an amputee. German prosthetic manufacturer Ottbock along with making waterproof micro-processor Genium X3 knees for sailing, windsurfing, kite-boarding and other watersports - came out with a mechanical hydraulic assisted knee ProCarve for snowboarding , skiing, water-skiing & wakeboarding about eight years ago. The benefits of this besides snowboarding and skiing with both legs, one isn't stressing a singular hip socket.
  8. Holy arbitrary unpredictable chance! The indiscriminate, the unplanned, the unrestricted, the fortuitous - the happening by chance, rather then design, has returned. The return & effect of one good hearted person is incalculable. Welcome back Hobot!
  9. After the race shot, with half a dozen boats in close proximity maneuvering. So yes, Pat was driving and had his eyes on the other boats and/or looking for the signal flag for the next race. I don't recall what we were doing, either clean up, fixing something, packing a chute or ?
  10. My pleasure! He's fairly serious about sticking to the program - with the reward being, able to go home. A few shots of Hobot doing bow on Sockeye USA 119, in the Sir Thomas Lipton Cup, the King Olav Cup and the US Nationals. Spinnaker USA 122 used aboard Sockeye as a light air "whomper". I don't recall why Pat chose to fly that kite, perhaps we needed a repair on our light air kite, but way to big for Sockeye, as seen in the pic. Pat did pick up a new Kevlar main from North at the end of that season, after all the important races concluded.
  11. Hobot just called. He talked more fluidly, with his sentences sounding like how Hobot originally talked. He'd accomplished talking normally with breathing exercises. To improve his blood pressure, he's also doing exercises in bed - doing feet exercises and leg lifts before attempting to sit up and then stand out of the bed - so he now stands without getting dizzy. He can now transfer from the bed to the wheelchair or walker on his own. Using his walker, he just finished a half dozen laps up and down his 28' room. This hospital's staff have proven themselves to Hobot, far beyond what he was ini
  12. While I believe renewables wind, solar, hydro & others are central to our future energy needs. The march toward a carbon reduced and carbon free energy needs, will include fusion. The Future of Nuclear Energy in a Carbon-Constrained World Where does nuclear power fit in as the U.S. begins moving away from fossil fuels - CBS video May 6, 2021 Is Nuclear Fusion The Answer To Clean Energy? As we move towards renewables and adding solar arrays to our yards and roofs - as the video above on Solar explained, the key is the means to store the power, which includes liquid metal
  13. The questions of if and when are already being advanced. More importantly we need to be looking at the why and the how. You have to think outside of the box Mike. The questions of if and when are already in motion - time wise how they plays out is yet to be determined. More importantly we need to be looking at the why and the how - which progressive scientists, engineers, investors and corporations are presently doing. Why: We can't rely on such an un-viable production, from exotic elements, sourced from political unstable remote regions, and in some cases unethically sourced - that
  14. Gas/Elecric Hybrids are still outselling electric. As we wean off of gas, I'd expect hydrogen cell/electric hybrids to capture much of the future market, till we're finally capable of shifting over to all electric vehicles. However, electric vehicles are the future, we just have a ways to go. Hybrids Are Quietly Selling Faster Than Fully Electric Cars Every Electric Vehicle That's Expected in the Next Five Years Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles for a Sustainable Future Kenworth begins taking orders for Class 8 electric truck Every Electric Pickup Truck Currently on the Horizon
