Hi P_Wop, the photographer was Charles P. LeMieux III, the image featured in 'Yacht Racing and Cruising'. Another one here of some excellent bow work being done. And another shot of the The Shadow looking like she's going quite nicely to windward.

There was a Chance-designed Glory at the 1982 Clipper Cup - she had an interesting/weird extension of the skeg to the transom. The Peterson 42 Glory was in Class D at the 1983 SORC, finished 8th, 17th overall.

Here's a few, during her Australian trials (from Australian Yearbook of Sail '83) - before the black nose, I think that was added when they got to Newport. -
That Springbok image is from Sail magazine, Jan 1991 (from the final 50-Foot World Cup Series held in Narrangansett Bay)

On the Bob Barton theme, here's a photo of Kindred Spirit and mast detail, not sure if that sheds any light on the discussion above, looks like a fairly simple, and beefy, extrusion. And an interesting article Bob wrote about the 1975 OTC.

On the topic of busy foredeck crews, I reckon this is a great shot - really looks like the bowman's got a bit on, regardless of whether the boat's approaching a wing mark or bottom mark. Anyone know which boat this is out of interest?

They came back for another go at the lifting keel concept in 1985, but without success. Excerpt from a preview article attached, along with another shot of the '84 Razzle with a happy looking crew.

Hi Brass, I've got a scanned copy of most of Mk III 1985 version, it's in 13 parts plus appendices (seem to be missing Part 1 for some reason but will see if I can find it). PM me your email address and I can send through.

Here's Jumpin' Jack Flash at speed in the Clipper Cup. Such a cool boat.

She was out just last Saturday, seen here doing what she does best...

I passed by these boats the other day and took some photos, including a slight view of one of the cockpits from as high as I could get. 82/92 looking pretty rough, but 60 and 38 seem better protected. Nice find above Doha! -
There are some occasional updates on the Magic Bus FB page https://www.facebook.com/Magic-Bus-367225536794411/ - the hull repaint looks really nice, and the new keel has been laminated/vacuum bagged.

Yep, that's her. Now here in Auckland undergoing a big renovation.

Here's a few more photos of Sweet Okole, including the full version of the cropped night-time shot above, and an interesting article re her construction. A sweet looking boat.

And almost made the 1985 US Admiral's Cup team, except the afterguard put her aground on the Dumpling islands in one of the ocean race courses and they ended up fourth. Might write up an article on her, quite a good looking boat, pic attached from the 1985 SORC
