Vegas if you want sails are you talking panelled or string? if you want string (or similar...) richard from doyle NZ has done all the numbers with relation to the c-tech rig (they are mates) and has the sail-pack designs on his computer. depends how technical you wanto get. At the moment we have a fairly nice looking luff curve, richard has done pretty well to make it fit the ctech rig straight out of the box

1.i didn't mean stiff as in physically. i was talking about no weight on the bottom ie. tippy as hell 2. the rudders are like 2 feet long. tiny. 3-4.the boats bow up/stern down so it doesnt trip over itself surfing down 2-3metre waves (and it trys to as it is) it feels like it wants to nosedive all the time- no buoyancy in the bow sections 5. possibly, thats what i was thinking. 6. lots of extra drag for another appendage (4???) 7. $$$$$$$$$ cheers PS it doesn't matter about habdicap anymore, the boat has been rejected by the ASBA and has not been granted an exception to the 6m ru

magilla, your right on the money. but at the end of the day, 1. before we start saying you can build 5 i550s for the same price as a m20...for me.... try one and a bit. 2. light air regatta definately, first windy race had a blinder, lots of boats crashing everywhere, we ran deeper and faster and held on uphill. got smashed on SMS. I have been told what needs to happen to bring it in line with other boats to rate. after sailing back 1up from geelong in 25kn it is obvious the thing hammers downhill in planing conditions. but all sportsboats do. to race W/L (which is all we do) we need height (

yeah your on it dude, we're 1.8 draft (to meet YA stability regulations) and for chutes i know what the penalties are, maybe a flat A1 with less area and less positive luff for the light stuff would have helped, and kept the trimmer happy. also drop the forestay down a bit would help, but at this point with all these things costing money i dare beg the question, am i putting lipstick on a pig? especially if the ASBA will just say fuck off next time u wanto race with them, they already had to make an exception for this regatta for the 6m rule.

oh and one other PRO: glam sail home from GTOWN with 25kn behind me 120 TWA reaching all alone with stereo blaring etc. passed lots of cruisers. are there any heavy running offshore sportsboat races? didn't think so.

yeah sorry guys, couldn't even been fucked turning up for the last day (hanging head) DFL for pretty much every W/L, was at the right end of the line (with everyone else) every start, tried every start imaginable (including boat end second row!!!!!????), kite up at the mark, glamour speed on targets, glam gybes, drops etc. Every W/L start was buried, tacked behind the fleet (5-8kn TWS), SB3s did inside course 5 minutes after, at first leeward gate EVERY race, was tangled with 15 sb3s. PROS: first day was good (around 25 TWS), war of attrition for a lot of them (one rig down, one rig damaged, o

interesting to see how the single spreader rig goes, we just sailed on a mates T7 today (3 spreader carbon) in around 20 and 1 metre waves. Smoked the race with middle sized MH chute, went for a fun lap after, one of the owners dropped the tack in the piss on the hoist......and down she came. broke right under the middle spreaders. Good R&D for my boat though.....

yeah no worries pickles speak soon, we know what ply we want and where to get it, but will give u a call before we do anything. Seem to think TTB has a good point, considering the 2 T7s here have 3 spreader carbon rigs, can't see how a single one will work with a big chute, and we want to go BIG. At the moment it looks like the best (and cheapest) option may be a cst section same dimensions as c-tech, but probably 2 spreader, depending on what our local rig designer thinks will be needed- he knows what will work and what won't.

so the ctech rig is single spreader Vs, No D1s? and TTB is twin spreader Vs,D1s,D2s? I know TTB is ally but Fuck they're has to be a big difference!
