Had a look and this guy reckons 3 knots extra with his system is this the rig the mono speed dream needs to break the fifty knots barrier have a look. He's got a big heart though.Calls it the wrinkley system ,probably for old farts.

Dear fuck that's an awful looking website. What's with all the links to Google? They won't help search rankings, might even damage your ranking. The overall design is ming-mangling bad looking, looks like the ramblings of a crazy person.

Oh wait.

So you need to buy a license to remove most of the luff cars from the mast track and make the main look like crap and yourself like a buffoon?. Billy Mays had nothing on this guy. But call within the next ten minutes, and we'll throw in these lame ass acronyms for free, along with the wrinkley guide to achieving the illusive fourth mode and a set of steak knives that can saw through spectra and still julienne tomatoes. A $1,000,000 value, yours free.

It'd be interesting to see some decent experimental data on how this 'Wrinkley system' affects performance - given that it seems to go against pretty much everything anyone else has ever written about getting decent performance out of sails.

Also has anyone taken a look at their telescopic mast? I did and noticed this little gem " NEW 316 STAINLESS STEEL PLASTIC COATED RIGGING. (so it does no damage to your boat)."

WTF? Plastic coated rigging: It won't scratch your boat, at least not 'till it fails without warning and brings the whole rig down.

Ha, how to turn your 4ksb into a 7ksb apparently, but maybe it might make a tiny, tiny bit of sense when on a run?

Like making your main into a second spinnaker....but jesus he's on acid if he thinks that looks good :P

Sounds like a code zero main: "Note the leading edge of the main sail in the upper photo showing how the extra power is achieved by rounding the front edge to create a fuller round in the luff .The front edge of the sail has a rope inserted in a sewn tube .This rope is used to control the amount of round in the luff tightening making more round creating more lift or power loosening flattening the luff and less power."

And he does surveys! Yow.

Yah well, some people did too much LDS back in the '60s

"you can feel the boat jump fwd with acceleration power"

wow how can you argue with science & logic like that? Having done such rigorous testing, with extensive precision instruments, I mean look at the heel angle in the picture (the one where you can't see the horizon)! Think we should get -mikewofsey- to explain the advanced physics behind this, I mean what if you combined these sails with MacGregor 26M technology?

And actually, that Fairy Penguin rowboat is nice looking little classic dinghy. The name does remind one of fat old guys who need to be kept away from schoolkids.

Sounds like the ulimate turbo for a Mac 26

there may actually be some merit in that system in a cruising boat context. separating the mainsail leading edge from the mast can occasionally make the whole thing more efficient - see aft mast rigs. cant say how that would affect the sail shape but im sure that could be designed for. there could be something more complicated going on here

dont bag it until youve seen it in CFD, I say.
