Visually the thing is amazing. Will they pull it off is anyone's guess. Too me it's far more cool than just another tallest building in the world. I think it ranks right up there with the transparent walkway over the Grand Canyon.

Me thinks Rio has many more problems to worry about to be ready for the Olympics / Paralympics than building a pretty srtucture that will probably be more of a finanicial flop than an actual Solar driven Power Plant.

Something fascinating to look at while the locals strip you to your underwear at gunpoint.

 

my sister used to live there and i went there a lot and such a thing never ever happened to me.

 

i doubt the robbery rate is very different from any metropolis in the world. maybe what is different is the recovery rate of the stolen items and the average jail-time of the perps.

I was thinking the very same thing. That's dynamic head pressure pushing that water up in an open loop. Massive GPM pumps to say the least with very large electrical motors.

Because 7 out of ten robberies there end up in murder?...........
