Thanks.  Jon Santarelli was one of ours.  One of the Area 3 good guys. We sailed may miles together and drank many different types of alcoholic drinks together.  We did Macs on Goblin together an

I do love it and the factors you lay out have very little to do with my love it. - Low turn out. : whether there are 8 boats in my class to race against or 16, we are still racing just as hard.

Chicago locks will now be closed the entire month of April thru the 30th. Working on the bearings or something. The only time they'll be open is April 7th from noon-4.

Who want's to sit along the locks on the 7th and watch the traffic jam?

We could make that the Fill the Lake (Lock?) Party!

So who in Chicago land purchased the old Puma????

Abu Dhabi is the old Puma..

How much cardboard glue have u been sniffing?

They bought the old Puma Avanti as a trainer.. Azzam is a new build, correct.

Puma Avanti is formerly ABN Amro Two. Il Mostro is an entirely different beast.

Is it ABN Amro Two that has already done the race or Il Mostro... looks like it is the ride from last trip round the marble. They held on to their previous one pretty tight till this go round.

Looks like another great day for frostbiting this Sunday at CYC Belmont.

We had 12 Lasers and 14 V15's on the line last week.

Come on out and join us this Sunday.

Just a quick heads up - there will be no 420's racing this Sunday afternoon - High School Regatta has the boats.

So the latest I've heard is Harbors open next week, locks will be open with delays, right?

Sounds about right regarding locks open with delays, but they've also got some dates (April 28-May 1) when the locks will be closed altogether.

Sorry, the above link directed to Notice 12-002. It was superseded by Notice 12-003, which is the one on the chicagoharbors.info page. New link here.

Saw the Big Country truck go by today at about 4:15'ish.

Prehaps to join the Biden motorcade? :P

Getting her washed, some maintenance and givin neighborhood kids rides for $5.

Everytime I pass Daley Plaza in that truck I do see a lot of uniforms unflap their holsters.

Volvo SA Area III Cup Update

All have not finished Leg 5 yet, but I decided to update our scores anyway for those who have finished. The series has added a few more boats since last. The official Volvo game scorer has a tie for first place in Leg 5. Both Skidmarks and prettyhatemachine finished in 17d22h50m, so I have awarded both a first place. The scores for the bottom half will likely change as the rest of the fleet finishes. TP2 had a daughter delivered during Leg 5 and still took 5th place. Pretty damn good. Tonybowker didn't run aground and Skidmarks never slept, also pretty damn good. Again, note that only those who have finished as of Friday are scored below

Standing	Yacht Name	Leg 1	Leg 2	Leg 3	Leg 4	Leg 5	Leg 6	Total

Fuck this, my app was FUBA(lls)R for days, almost a week. This leg should be aba(lled)ndoned... Hey, you've got both Skidballs and prettyhatemyballs as 1... What about Irishballs and Countryballs? FUCKING BALLS! Balls, balls, balls, balls!!

Four-and-twenty virgins come down from Inverness,

And when the Ball was over, there were four-and-twenty less,

Singin' balls to your partner, your ass against the wall,

If ya never been laid on a Saturday night, ya never been laid at all..

There was doin' in the parlor, there was doin' on the stones,

But ya couldn't a hear the music for the wheezin' and the groans,

Singin' balls to your partner, your ass against the wall,

If ya never been laid on a Saturday night, ya never been laid at all.

The undertaker, he was there, all wrapped up in a shroud,

Swingin' from the chandelier, and peein' on the crowd,

Singin' balls to your partner, your ass against the wall,

If ya never been laid on a Saturday night, ya never been laid at all.

The village cripple, he was there, ah he could not do much,

So he lined the ladies against the wall, and he did 'em with his crutch,

Singin' balls to your partner, your ass against the wall,

If ya never been laid on a Saturday night, ya never been laid at all.

Miss Mary McPherson was standin' way up front,

Some posies in her hand, and a carrot in her cunt,

Singin' balls to your partner, your ass against the wall,

If ya never been laid on a Saturday night, ya never been laid at all.

The Village postman, he was there, but the poor man had the pox,

He could not do the lassies, so he did the letter box,

Singin' balls to your partner, your ass against the wall,

If ya never been laid on a Saturday night, ya never been laid at all.

The Village Magician, he was there, he gave us all a laugh,

He pulled his foreskin over his head, and he vanished up his ass,

Singin' balls to your partner, your ass against the wall,

If ya never been laid on a Saturday night, ya never been laid at all.

Faack i missed this one... flashbacks of John Valby!!!

The Village schoolmarm, she was there, she did a clever stunt,

She picked up her dress and spread her legs and whistled through her cunt!

Singin' balls to your partner, your ass against the wall,

If ya never been laid on a Saturday night, ya never been laid at all.

The Village idiot, he was there, doing this and that,

Amusing himself, abusing himself, and catching it in his hat!

Singin' balls to your partner, your ass against the wall,

If ya never been laid on a Saturday night, ya never been laid at all.

Abu Dhabi is the old Puma..

So whose this Peter Thornton guy?

Owned Holua (SC70) for one and is a genuinely nice guy. Probably knows the difference between who's and whose as well...in fact, I would bet big money.

Singin' balls to your partner, your ass against the wall,

If ya never been laid on a Saturday night, ya never been laid at all.

I first heard this when I was about 10 years old, and at summer camp where the counselors were all English and Irish. But the verse was,

"If you've never been FUCKED on a Saturday night, you've never been FUCKED at all."

We're delivering from there next weekend and are trying to avoid making someone drive all the way up to drop us off.

Is Defiance in SB?

I don't think I'm actually a member of the Circus FB page, where is it?

In Milwaukee - from what I understand, it's coming down the weekend after the NATO summit.

Peter needs to take up a new hobby. Seriouly, twice within a years time? Maybe he'd be better suited with lion taming, or bomb building...

If not a new hobby, perhaps he trades his tippy dinghy in for a boat with a keel that will right itself, like a J/24.

WTF?

Chaos

Wow, so is there really going to be enough room at 31st for everyone? And isn't 31st street closer to McCormick than DuSable?

Also, I get why they want the boats out a few days before, but why 3 days after the meetings?

do they have cans at hopleaf?

Actually, they probably have a few - there's some craft beers in cans - although I wouldn't count on scoring a Busch Light.

yeah new belg, half acre and a few others have been doing that for a couple years. supposed to keep the beer better, but i think it tastes funny. I'll leave it at that because i don't want to be told to take it to beer anarchy.

I was on the watch list. It almost took an act of congress to get off. Classified that you are on a list, classified which of 17 possible agencies put you there no legal recourse, but we are convincing our military personnel they are defending our freedom (no disrespect directed at the military) with there life and limb. And this is freedom?

You sound like Michael Douglas from Falling Down

Yeah, probably I do. I just get a little annoyed when the government does stupid things just because it can as opposed to putting a little thought in it. (And sharing their thought processes...)

Also received this response from a one of the Navy Pier Ship Captains:

You are reading the reg's correctly and that iscurrently how it stands. However, in press releases and at ourInternational Ship Master's Industry Day the USCG suggested that they wouldlikely be making exceptions to the restrictions for the tour and workboats. Recreational vessels may not get the exception.

The reason it remains an unknown is everyone(USCG, Police Marine Unit, ILDNR, etc.) is because the Secret Service will notreveal their plan until sometime shortly before the start of this event.

So we're all kind of waiting to see right now.

Hope that helps,
