The Boat Show is one of the few places we can take items out of the mainstream for informed buyers to kick the tyres and choose the best equipment for themselves/ their boat.

With the decline of the specialist Chandlery and informed staff (except for a few notable exceptions), it is harder for suppliers to get better quality/ more expensive / niche products to market. And then we get pissed off when we hear that it was bought over the internet "because I didn't know I could get it here"...

Good Stands will offer informed technical advice and a wider range of items.

Plus there are always Show deals

Day 1 over. We were busy right until close which makes a nice change. Quick wander around the marina revealed as many yachts as power boats - what a turnaround. Most were AWB and cruising cats and the McConaghy boys must sleep in as the Cone was all canvassed up. The X yacht XP38 looked very nice. Couldn't get to the Dehler 41 as their tent blocked off entry to the finger end. No Sydney Yachts as the 43 went to Southport.The R39 looked lovely.Nothing like lots of varnish and carbon on the same boat.

We were good inside. Some good interest on liferafts, particularly now the new regs have been released.

Great day to be in Sydney yesterday with light winds, sunshine and 21 Deg C. I love visiting the SIBS to check out the new models. This one was particularly appealing. And before you ask, I have no idea what she rates.

 

Nice one Jamie although a disappointing lack of the inspirational internal decor that was such a feature of her predecessor!

As this is a sailing website you claim is run by yanks......can you please let us know how the USA sailing team is going in the Olympics as I can not locate any results on the Olympic site in relation to US sailors.
