Now kiddies have we all taken our meds, calmed down and rethought the stacking issue?

Not doing much for them, I don't know what you want us to say. Yeah it's against the rules, yes they're doing it, yes they're not in the running for line honors. Shrug

Now shows WO 3.9 back at 22.7kt to C at 14.3kt  - but given the refresh rate of the trackers easy to read too much into it...

Close of Channel 7 news and a 5 second  fade out helicopter shot of Comanche back to full main and close hauled heading up storm bay. Oats in the background. Derwent is an aboriginal word which means, where the wind goes to die.

Same problems as the VOR-boats - too much water over the bow - slows them down. When will we se the first  big monos with round-bows?

You ever seen a scow bow go upwind? It ain't pretty..

Will shit JS. Great minds think alike

I wonder if they have a Das Bot siren and flashing light?

Cut the bow off put in a 2 degree wedge, re glue the bow. Lengthen the forestay - Job done.

If C wins her protest it will be another indication that the 100 don't sail to the same interpretation of the rules as the rest of the boats.   If any of 99 other in the fleet went to the room saying: "we were on starboard and had to luff after the other boat tacked in front of us",  then the response would be cry me a river.

It's really difficult to establish when a tack is completed and video evidence is often not considered as it can be misleading on angles and distances. If they do accept video evidence then they get the sound track of C saying they "can have a piece of" WO, which won't play well when asked if they changed course at all prior to WOs tack.

Isn't the advice given by the experts always saying that in C's position if she doesn't want to luff or tack away, then she should have waived WO through.

Yeah but don't get me wrong, I like Leo V and others who don't frequent this bar love Mini's and some of the Proto design concepts they germinate and transport upwards like via the Open 60's

The OP doesn't quite appreciate that all that forward volume is rjghting moment and while they have canting lead, it is via fuckin block and tackle. Then the reality is they are unlike their bigger cousin the Fig, just a one direction miniture pony.

Can't wait ...  that bow section will be as pretty as a picture on a 100'.

It really make sense upwind too; they are heeled over a lot - going on the sides - and the side will be more parallell to the centerline - and give more righting moment.

Can you tell us what the conditions are like in Storm Bay and the Creek from your spaceship?

Well I'm only at 2000m and from what i can see it's puking down snow!

So have you ever won a late "Lee bow" protest? Any one you know? Any one else?  Jimmy Spithill has but I'm guessing only when there are on water refs

The seven Facebook page has a live feed. Both boats about 500m apart moving at about 3 knots on glassy water... Lots of spectator boats.

Comanche was very slow but had just tracked and needed to send someone up the mast to pop the battens through.

Thank you so much for that brief but succinct dispensation of nautical knowledge. On behalf of the SA great unwashed and wisdomless masses I express our heartfelt gratitude.
