those cliffs must be brutal...    yeah... a breeze.....  fuck....

Worse is when there's a SW swell running, the confused sea from the backwash from Raoul combined with lack of breeze can feel like you're flogging the sails to bits!

5am, must be getting light, how about some live coverage, or at least a pic or two?

Just a hint of grey on the horizon, light soon. Sailor Girl about to head out on the media boat.

The thing that speaks for Comanche is the tide (blue vertical line on the left of the graph is 'now'). The amount left to travel against a stronger than usual ebbtide will be shorter than for the others that arrive later. Very small time windows, very exciting, last to lose the nerves, wins.

Info track did take a wide approach. The beauty of AIS when you are trailing. The are still moving well.

Comanche seemed to come-in high at the turn and had to dig down to get there. IT came-in from a wider angle that was obviously best at this point, as long as they did not put in too meany extra miles.

Nic reckons there is pressure all the way up the Derwent but lighter as you get closer. Boom above centre and Code Zero. Still doing 10 Knots. Around less than 7 knots to go and Comanche heeled over and she is going fast.!
