If someone is selling a boat on the condition that the artwork is non-transferable and it was to cost 25k as LB suggests (I am 100% agreeing with sportscar that it's vinyl) to repaint, then any buyer with half a brain would go into the negotiations using that as a bargaining chip.

If only you were looking for a SO40 when I was selling my boat.

I think we’re talking about just removing the logo on the bow, which is probably just vinyl?? And just leave the base colour.

They didn't, Mick Cookson simply closed the doors when he retired.

You're referring to Cookson Boatbuilders NZ I'm guessing?  The doors are shut there, so your calls and emails will continue to go unanswered.  Mick Cookson I believe was desperate to retire, and nobody wanted to take on the gamble, despite their great reputation.

Great boat builder.  Only spoke with him a few times about my boat, but a great, helpful guy.  Very glad that I owned a Cookson-built boat.  Two decades of taking everything we could throw at it without out a flinch, and - unless we screwed up - always put us at the pointy end of the fleet.
