Might be a bit premature.  No wonder you see likely see it as a good move.

In case you decide you no longer want to discuss cases - look at that "modestly declining" 7DMA of deaths.

BTW, I gave Mikey a time out, which will be the same response anyone gets for calling the coronavirus response measures 'hysteria' or peddling misinformation that could hurt someone.

I'm day 9 of symptoms and still in the middle if it. Let me tell you,  getting a viral load from convience store handle much less than getting it from being in a maskless patients face coughing on you

It is not whether it offends, it is whether it is dangerous. Spreading false information about the dangers of a pandemic can kill people. Most forums have a ratio of between 10 and 100 lurkers to ever

Do you have a breakdown of fully vaxed and boosted people kicking the bucket from COVID?  This chart doesn’t address that and really that’s all that matters

I can see why you don't want to talk about cases, like earlier today.  That little blip in December 2020 was when they had a high of 3,000 or so cases.  Just look at that "modest decline", in recent days.

Looks like it went up.  But cases don’t matter anymore, and that’s why they’re opening up with no restrictions.  We should do the same and we are at least starting to contemplate this, but I bet it gets dragged out to Memorial Day because people like you think cases still matter.

You think they do.   I pointed out in Early Jan that per Dr.Jha said they are no longer an important metric but I’m willing to talk about them since you think it’s relevant.

Yes, cases matter.

Repeating this ad nauseum is more tedious than wearing a fucking mask.

I'm ignoring for purposes of this post alone, the issue of the unwillingly unvaccinated.

The more infections, the more opportunity for the viruses to mutate (again) into a variant that will defeat the vaccines and other super-immunities.

Personally, I'd like to see an end to all this shit. But some seem to revel in the game of Russian Roulette.

Just wear a fucking mask when you're indoors in public, or in a group. If it bothers you, brush your fucking teeth for a change.

If we are to discuss fake numbers, look at Florida.  Either their healthcare system is fucking awesome or they are fudging the numbers.

Of course, we KNOW they are doing that, and how.

There was a short period of time when a few RWNJ media voices were saying something very similar, that those dastardly libs -made- us believe the vaccine was bad when it's actually good, that we should use ivermectin instead of actual medical treatment, and we MAGAts should not let those evil Demtards fool us!

But it last maybe two weeks, suddenly the Q-nuts were all "Look, you can cure it by drinking pee!" and the rest of the trumpalos went uh, OK!

Agreed.  Pretty soon, the 7DMA of deaths will drop, and he'll jump back on that.  Right now, he points to cases dropping (even though he dismissed case rates as unimportant in the recent past) and individual states where deaths are dropping.  He fancies himself some sort of data analyst.  His poor command of the English language and overestimation of his own abilities are his downfall.

Twubbling.

Id like to hear from fn how wonderful florida is doing,  given the fixation on Monoclonal that simply doesn't work with omi.

Deathsantis crying poor because the feds cut off his drug supply - paraphrased : "but I promised everyone monoclonal so they didn't have to get the Vax. Just because it doesn't work in laboratory cell tests,  doesn't mean it won't work in humans."

I love it when political aholes have their spin do a 180 right back at them.

1192 for FL reported 2 days ago for the prior 7 days,  so a 7dma of 170. The week prior around 200. Maybe falling slowly but I wouldn't put money on either side.  Alotta people cosying up away from the falling iguanas.

Au Contraire!  I’m largely an ETF investor.  Individual stocks represent  less than 20% of my portfolio and I just got shellacked on FB .  Buffet famously bet and won that he could better the performance of a top hedge fund manager by holding an index fund over a period of years.  I think that strategy would no longer work though due to the outsized influence of 5 stocks on the S&P.

Gottlieb said the CDC’s guidance is “a pretty high threshold in the age of omicron,” adding that agency testing conducted right before the omicron wave showed that 90% of Americans have antibodies against Covid either through a vaccine or infection, or both.

Hey, @Fakenews, it looks like there is a little blip in the "modestly declining" 7DMA (although the daily deaths increased), and we may see it begin to drop.

Better drop the "case number" argument (again) and get back to the 7DMA.  Then, you can pretend you nailed it.

If I have been posting about cases like you have (clearly demonstrated a few minutes ago), you might have a point.  But, I haven't.  And, you don't.

It was a week or so ago you posted the image of the NYT death graph, with 7DMA line superimposed, and proclaimed it "modestly declining", at around 1400/day.  Since then, it has steadily increased - nearly doubling.

I am happy to dig back through and share the post to which I am referring.  But, you probably would prefer I not.

Since you were quoted so I could see your shit, I bet you didn't click on the comments of that post did you. That was made in Oct of 2020, since that time and especially now the bulk of deaths are from the unvaccinated.  And just who would those be? Maybe the ones who booed Trump for getting the booster? Borrowed from a Teener post in the Corona forum - you aren't very good at this but are more entertaining when PUI.

Was there a point in there somewhere?

Trump is vaccinated.  And just for the record, how many COVID deaths in the US since Biden took office?

Point? Do you ever get those? The unvaxxed are dying - in red counties it's 2 to 3xs of blue counties. Exactly how and why is Biden responsible for those deaths?  Go ahead, I'll wait while you explain that in detail.  Start anytime.

Biden should have FORCED those loony anti-vaxxers to take the jab! It's his fault for trying to MAKE them accept this shitty vaccine!

Or something. All you need to know is, BIDEN=LEFTIST and DEMOCRAT=BAD!!

We could do a comparison of actions taken by the two recent Presidents to address the pandemic.

How was Trump responsible for them when Biden tweeted?

Biden is the one that blamed the President for the 220,000 deaths.

Neither are responsible.  COVID is a worldwide problem, and there is no one correct way to handle it, as we are finding out.

But Biden did say he was going to shut down the virus.  Has he?

Saying he would "shut down" the virus was rather stupid.

Especially when you factor in the idiots who subscribe to the bullshit spread by The Former Guy.

THEY are the ones who are dying, en masse.  The ones who refuse to heed the advice of experts and avail themselves of a vaccine that will greatly increase their chances of surviving COVID.  These would also be the same folks who want to credit The Former Guy with developing the vaccine.

And, yes, I agree with you that previous sentence makes absolutely no sense.

Oh, and to your point that there is no one correct way to handle it.  It seems the US has found the one incorrect way to handle it.  And, there is nothing (NOTHING) President Biden could do to persuade the anti-vaxxers to get the jab.  You know, I know it, and so does everyone else.

It is not Biden's responsibility to ensure people make good decisions regarding their health.  However, his attempts to mandate the vaccination probably convinced more people not to get it than get it.

Agreed.

Almost, but not quite, as stupid as someone saying (with no evidence) COVID will just "go away".

Ah yes.  He is to blame for their refusal.

Bullshit.

It is certainly a legitimate hypothesis.  Perhaps the virus just needs to blow through the population to run itself out.  That seems to be what Omicron is doing.

So it's I would rather die than have you tell me what to do? Now that's really mature.  And not surprising among the Trump cult - owning the libs is getting really expensive. And you are beyond tiring. Again. Back to the ignore pile.

Sure, except that people seem to catch it 2 or 3 times.

How many times will it "blow thru the population" before it kills everybody who is too stupid to avoid the plague?

Aside from the stupidity of "I'd rather die that have you make me get a vaccine that one of my cult idols developed," the mandates have been lifted by right-wing court order. So all the people who were convinced to not get it, should have run out and gotten it.

But they didn't.

Because stupid.

I'm long past giving a rat's ass-fuck about "the population" as a group of people who think avoiding the plague is stupid.

Those who are smart enough to realize that the old saying "avoid it like the plague" was actually good advice, have gotten other good advice and followed it.

Bullshit.  Because of his inaction, all while knowing just how nasty the virus was and lying to the American people, contributed to the death toll.

Now, there is something else responsible - morons refusing to get the vaccine because there is a Democrat telling them it is a good idea.  He tried to force folks to get it, and the Faithful took him to court.

Kind of a "my body - my choice" thing, right?  These are the same folks who say to women "your body - my choice".

You might even argue that, sure your body your choice, but when your choice over your body causes harm to someone else's body, then society has the power to get involved.

We haven't established by law "someone else's body", have we?  So, your definition is just that - yours.

If you get COVID and you transmit it to someone else, is it someone else's body by law?

It’s already blown through the population.  90% of Americans are either vaxed or had a previous infection.  The pandemic is over, finito, done.  Since pandemics end only 17K vaxed people, overwhelmingly very old, and suffering from 4 known comorbidities.  Most of them also not boosted.  If they had been boosted that # is likely half of that.   That’s much less than an influenza season.  We need to join progressive, first world modern economies that are putting Covid in the rear view mirror.

Who cares?  If you are vaxed and heathy you just avoided the plague.  If other people want to die by not getting vaxed and mingling with the rest of us?  Have at it.
