And sorry to disappoint you right back.....  Mass shootings account for a tiny fraction of overall gun deaths.

Literally more people were killed in bar fights and such with hands and feet every year than there were deaths from mass shootings.  IN 2019, 417 people died in mass shootings but 600 died from fists and feet.  Sources below:

  1. https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2019/crime-in-the-u.s.-2019/tables/expanded-homicide-data-table-8.xls
  2. By the end of 2019, there were 417 mass shootings in the U.S., according to data from the nonprofit Gun Violence Archive (GVA), which tracks every mass shooting in the country. Thirty-one of those shootings were mass murders.

Last I checked 600 > 417.  Sounds like it's time to register peoples extremities lest they continue to kill more people than AR-15s.

Kick some ass like at the Battle of Crysler's Farm where:

800 British and Canadian regulars, militia and Indians, engaged an American force of 4000 under Brigadier-General John Boyd.  The open terrain was suited to the training of the well-drilled British regulars, who, after two hours of heavy fighting, routed the enemy.

In case you missed it, in this case the 'enemy' was the Americans and even when they outnumbered the British (and allies) 5-to-1, were defeated.

Yeah, but they couldn't hold the airports in the revolutionary war.

No army wins every battle in a war.  It's who won the war that counts.

By my count, it was Americans 2, British 0.

1). Don't think I ever read nor heard about that little bar fight. Well done.....ex-Masters.....?

2). But if you didn't catch my 'drift' wrt to the words 'metaphor alert' in my last sentence....I was referring to America's upcoming civil war....twixt Team Red & Team Blue. Because I quite honestly believe that one is inevitable....possibly within 10 years. This country will NEVER be 'united' again....no matter what people wanna think or say. And I think deep down inside....most folks think the same thing. It's fuking impossible to convince 330 million people to come to almost total agreement on anything, the canyon of division gets deeper by the day.....and hate, bigotry, racism & opposing political ideolgies....will be with us forever......

in 1813 in North America (the continent) 4000 soldiers was not a bar fight. I agree with everything else you said.

Mildly amusing story from a friend who cautioned against joining a coop board:

A particularly noisy and problematic shareholder complained about the fact that the board president spoke to her extremely disrespectfully and walked away from her. She reported this to the managing agent and sent an email to the entire board.

Turns out that with the required mask and a baseball cap on, she had mistaken someone else for the president and began berating him about some building issue. He told her to f___ off and walked away. She had the wrong person.

Every condo board has one of them (at least) to deal with.

My son & his POSSLQ are currently selling & moving because of one of them. They have put in a harassment complaint about her to the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal.

They are pretty glacial so it's a nice time bomb to leave for the asshole.
