How to store torsion rope with sail rolled

Recommended Posts

Hi

im thinking about getting a roller for my A sails. It’s a 90m2 sail and soon I want a 140m2 one. We have a code0 which we roll and it’s much easier to tack, also we just lower the rolled tube and store it. But the code0 has no torsion rope. How do you store the sail when it’s rolled on the torsion rope? Can you put that in a circle? There must be a way.

Same way - we just lower the rolled tube and flake it into a big bag - it doesn't pack small, but the torsion rope will do large diameter u-turns at each end of the bag.  We have a selden system, which isn't the best, but for our cruising code 0 it works pretty well and didn't break the bank.

Our bag is probably 2' wide, and we can do the sail tighter than that.  Unfortunately the boat is in Trinidad right now behind closed borders and we're not, so can't check for sure, but would guess the radius of the torsion rope U-turns could be as tight as a foot.  Hope that things open up so we can get back aboard...
