So you think she SHOULD get to live by a different set of rules...

Cuz she's rich or cuz she's a Democrat?

Golly, this might be worthy of its own thread.

Wonders why the B doesn't start one. He starts so many threads, you'd think he'd be all over this.

She should make a point of accepting what ever fine is associated with this.  It would be a good demonstration.  And then go after all the people at the Trump acceptance speech.

The deficits are mostly a result of your Republican boys tax cuts for the rich. Nor does Speaker Pelosi control the purse strings. They are jointly controlled by the House, Senate (controlled by your Republican boys) and your boy Shitstain. Money bills start in the House but that is it.

Home schooled were you?

All appropriations originate in the house.

she should have to have her hair returned.  and pay a fine. and beg for forgiveness. (for being a democRAT).

How do you not know what the law is, in that situation? Completely unacceptable. She has to know that there are legions of incels just waiting to circle jerk each other over stuff like this. She is usually pretty professional but this is bush league.

Yes, the Origination Clause which is what I just said. However, this massive deficit problem originated with your Republican boys when they cut taxes for the rich which you aren't. And now Speaker Pelosi cannot by herself fix your problem.

Tell ya what, I'll condemn Pelosi for getting an illegal haircut if you condemn Trump for... well, you can take your pick. Maybe start here: https://theintercept.com/2019/10/10/trump-crimes-law/  It's a little out of date so I'm sure we can add to the list.

Turns out it wasn't illegal. The hair salon owner was misinformed.

If the Constitution doesn't say that's okey-dokey then we should probably just tear it up and forget about it, eh?

SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX) — For the first time in months, hair and nail salons are open in San Francisco, but some are biding their time.

The city has green-lighted salons to offer limited outdoor services, but many businesses are choosing to wait until indoor services are permitted. Right now, shampooing and chemical treatments are not allowed outdoors.

Finally, the truth comes out.

Stylist who blew out Pelosi's hair is backing her up.

Jonathan DeNardo is the stylist, Erica Kious is the owner.

"Kious gave the footage to Fox News"
Less than two hours later, Jonathan DeNardo, the stylist who blew out Pelosi’s hair, released a statement through an attorney contradicting Kious.

The statement says the law firm is in possession of photographs and videotape that show that Kious has been operating her salon in violation of state and local restrictions since April. The statement also says that Kious authorized Pelosi coming to the salon for her blow out, and that she was critical of the House speaker because she erroneously believed Pelosi was behind the restrictions that shut down her salon. (The rules were put in place by Gov. Gavin Newsom and San Francisco Mayor London Breed.)

Ms. Kious has also been actively encouraging and almost forcing stylists who operate at eSalon to violate such orders for her own financial benefit in the form of receiving lease payments,” the statement says. “The fact that Ms. Kious is now objecting to Speaker Pelosi’s presence at eSalon, and from a simple surface-level review of Ms. Kious’ political leanings, it appears Ms. Kious is furthering a set-up of Speaker Pelosi for her own vain aspirations.”

The brouhaha began on Monday, when security camera footage at the eSalon showed Pelosi inside, passing by with wet hair and a mask wrapped around her neck and being trailed by a hair stylist who was wearing a mask. Kious gave the footage to Fox News, which first reported the story Tuesday.

This is clearly the single most important issue in the news. Trump encouraging people to commit voter fraud? No no! Pelosi's may-or-may-not-be illegal hair appointment! Clearly a threat to all that is great and true in 'Murica.

Anyone know a decent country with a reasonable refugee process? The threat of stupid is just too much. I fear for my sanity.

Explain the Hatch Act, and I’ll counter your response.

She is normally very polished and professional, but this is a big slip up on her part. This isn't the first time that there have been elitism problems with democRATS getting haircuts. She knows full-well that anything she does is going to be elitist, even if it is going through a fucking McDonald's drive through for a cup of coffee. She knows better.  She should have done the non-elitist thing and had her stylist come to her, like a minimum wage worker does.

She's actually 80 but yeah, math is hard. Anyways, it's not clear whether you're a guy or not, but COVID appears to be kinda misanthropic, both in its death rates and damage to its survivors (ask BoJo). You being a 50+ bitchy guy are about as at risk as the 80 year old Speaker. Moreover, your 74 year old boy Shitstain has even more to worry about as his morbid obesity is also a complicating factor. Life isn't fair.

Pelosi or her aids should have know better..  but again, this is typical of the "do as I say not as I do" mentality... there is enough of this bullshit coming from both sides.

I cannot stop laughing. Stupid salon owner agrees to let Pelosi in, lies about agreeing to let her in, and then gets publicly exposed for having illegally operated in-person for months beforehand.

This story has already conveniently left the Fox news cycle so no viewers will have to worry their little heads about this whole thing being exposed as at best a sham and at worst illegal entrapment and business fraud.

Another hilarious attempt at reputational warfare brought to you by the "Grab 'Em By the Pussy" party.

Oh hell no

<snip>Meadows’ alleged violation happened during the same interview in which he notoriously referred to the Hatch Act as “hoopla,” claiming, "Nobody outside of the Beltway really cares. They expect that Donald Trump is going to promote Republican values and they would expect that Barack Obama, when he was in office, that he would do the same for Democrats.”
