I wonder if Vlad has guaranteed Trump’s DeutcheBank debt. That would explain a lot.

Vlad is maybe the wealthiest person on the planet.  (I've seen his yacht that no one talks about).  He could dig up $1B from his couch cushions.  That's why Trump snuggles up with him.

Snuggles?  All Trump can think about is how kool it would be if he had Putin’s position but in the US, with US wealth behind him!  Fuck a super yacht- how about a carrier task force?  How about a private Death Star?  You’ve got to think big!

When the judge is considering whether Trump shall be allowed to post bail, his threat to flee the country combined with  his sufficient funds to do so should keep him locked up until the completion or Each of  his trials.

When other countries are faced with a similar threat to their democracy, their electoral authorities request oversight from the international community.  Isn't it time for the USA to do this?  Or too embarrassing?

There are quite a few people who could actually do that.

I like concept superyachts, and well, superyachts in general.  This is fun and novel.  It comes from an animation 3D studio though.  I mean the maxi transom with a picklefork race boat on it is whack.  I would actually like to see a naval architect take a stab at this just to see what it really could be.

Well, Phil Bolger designed a mini-carrier cruising boat. The idea was that it would be an intracoastal/river cruiser, boxy with a flush deck to carry toys like motorbikes, Sunfish (or other light performance dinghies) and a lift that would mimic a real carrier's elevators for getting the toys off and back on the deck.

Unfortunately I can't find a graphic of it. It was in one of the short-lived small boat magazines, pre-internet; Bolger had a regular column with them.

Just shows how feeble republican long range planning is with automation lurking around the corner, ready to screw with their voting base.  Although I can see the republicans creating a socialist system to pay people to buy republican stuff.  Rhetorical contortions like we’ve never seen!  Oh........heh heh, that’s right, never mind.........my bad....

My whole life, what am I going to do? I’m going to say ‘I lost to the worst candidate in the history of politics.’ I’m not going to feel so good."

“Maybe I’ll have to leave the country? I don’t know.”

He's one of a very small minority that has a choice. In fact, a very small percentage of US population even owns a passport or has ever been out of the country. One of our PA resident middle school teachers can easily confirm this! And, where are they going to go? Most would be quickly jailed and deported if they ever tried to flee to Mexico or anywhere else in south or north America. :D

To be fair, one did not need a passport in the 90's to go to a lot of fun places outside the USA.  That sure changed....and then changed again in the last few months!

We have Chinese 10 year visas that Beijing have suspended. I wonder if the visa term will be extended by the length of the suspension? Somehow I doubt it. One way China is keeping their numbers down is by making it very difficult to enter the country. To go these days you need a special visa given for business or other reasons. On arrival you must stay in a designated hotel for 14 days at your expense. Meals are brought to your room, you may not leave for any reason.

Is President Donald Trump a Flight Risk?

By BRIG. GEN. (RET.) PETER B. ZWACK

10/28/2020 03:49 PM EDT

Brigadier General Peter B. Zwack retired from the U.S. Army in 2015 after a 34-year career in tactical and strategic military intelligence, and as a foreign area officer. His overseas postings included Afghanistan, Kosovo, South Korea, West Germany and Russia. His final assignment was as the U.S. senior Defense Attache to The Russian Federation from 2012-2014

Yes, this sounds like a B-grade spy novel. But consider the evidence.

Similar, but what I've heard, from my brother-in-law who has done business with the Bank o' China for years, is that it is a 14-day stay in a hotel ROOM of their choice, and then a 7 day stay in a hotel ROOM of your choice.  Room service only.   No leaving the room.

Trump won't leave the country. He lives for his adoring fans. He would choose the drama of trials over exile. He imagines the adoring crowds outside the courthouse as he slips into his limo after a few quips and accordion-hand-waves on the steps. Trump could be building a wall around Mar-a-Lago. Like the Waco compound. Think of the ratings. Nobody will even remember that Biden is President.

It seems nearly anyone can draw a crowd in the States if they work the publicity.

I wouldn't worry about Trump's potential as a security disaster.

He's simply too dumb to memorize/transmit/understand anything of any value, and the only people he trusts are even dumber.

How many countries have no extradition treaty with the USA? Do any of them want to finance a really tacky 5-star golf resort?

It could be worse than that.  Last night former Navy counter-terrorism, intelligence specialist Malcolm Nance spoke of a possible "political paramilitary insurgency."

Nance's scenario seemed to ignore the fact many Trump voters may not be so willing to risk losing what they have, should the coup fail and they end up defending themselves in court.

Police acquiescence could result in bringing in the military.  Then the cops could find themselves in court, too.

We're not like many of the countries Nance is familiar with, where the majority have little or nothing to lose.  Most of us have it pretty good here.   There are not a lot of Trumpsters willing to risk what those plotting to kidnap Whitmer did.

I may be completely wrong, but I think most of the talk now will end there, just talk and maybe some ammosexual protests.  But that will be dealt with very differently after a sane person occupies the office of the presidency.

So I started thinking that if Trump is able to pardon himself, or quit and have Pence do it, that he is still on the hook for state level stuff, namely NY.

He moved to Florida, so I started looking into interstate extradition law, and found it in the Constitution:

Article IV, Section 2, Clause 2:

A person charged in any state with treason, felony, or other crime, who shall flee from justice, and be found in another state, shall on demand of the executive authority of the state from which he fled, be delivered up, to be removed to the state having jurisdiction of the crime.

Here is where it gets interesting:

The meaning of the Extradition Clause was first tested before the Supreme Court in the case of Kentucky v. Dennison (1861). The case involved a man named Willis Lago who was wanted in Kentucky for helping a slave girl escape. He had fled to Ohio, where the governor, William Dennison, Jr., refused to extradite him back to Kentucky. In this case, the court ruled that, while it was the duty of a governor to return a fugitive to the state where the crime was committed, a governor could not be compelled through a writ of mandamus to do so.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extradition_Clause

So it sounds like DeSantis can just tell New York to go fuck itself with no repercussions, and Trump spends the rest of his life tweeting and cheating at golf, just needing to stay the fuck out of blue states.
