Didn't parler just recently get hacked???  I hope whomever did it releases all the personal info of the users so they start losing jobs, etc.  Idiots.

A fascinating bit of investigative journalism into where these 'patriots' are getting their 'facts' from. Stupidity doesn't begin to describe it. In my eyes they are guilty as sin due to the sheer level of laziness in gobbling up everything that is spoon fed to them....by the US' arch enemies.

Patriots my arse.

"We also know that the Kremlin-run trolls at the Internet Research Agency were actively spewing incendiary provocations and content designed to promote Donald Trump leading up to, and all the way through, the 2016 general election campaign, and then through the start of the Trump administration. Content created by the Internet Research Agency and its brethren is known to have reached well over a hundred million Americans in the election season. The IRA greatest hits Facebook pages were “Stop A.I.” (meaning “All Invaders,” complete with many graphics of scary-looking Muslims), “Being Patriotic,” “Blacktivist,” and “Heart of Texas.” Each of those pages got more than eleven million discrete engagements. Heart of Texas, that original chestnut created way back in January 2015, had 200,000 followers by the time the election season was over, more than five million “likes,” and almost five million shares. The scary anti-immigrant Invaders page got even more. These engagements were dwarfed by the total interactions with the most popular IRA-invented Instagram accounts, all created with the sole purpose of ripping at divisions in the American electorate.

One of the IRA’s fake American personas, Jenna Abrams (70,000 followers), started out trolling Kim Kardashian and then graduated to trolling people who thought the Confederate flags and monuments in the American South should come down. “Did you know that the flag and the war wasn’t about slavery,” Ms. Abrams scolded, “it was all about money.” The Internet Research Agency and its data analyzers paid Facebook for ads and “boosted posts” to stir resentments after police killed young unarmed African Americans in St. Louis, Baltimore, and Cleveland. And after a white supremacist gunman murdered eight African Americans at the Mother Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina. “Another level of hate. Unfortunately, American tolerance is not what we think it is,” read the ad for which Facebook pocketed $20 from the St. Petersburg troll farm. “What if America is still a deeply racist country? What if the church is not a safe place anymore?”

When not forcing their dirty fingernails into our various national open wounds, the Savushkina Street trolls pummeled the Democratic nominee with paid advertisements, writ ugly: “JOIN our #HillaryClintonForPrison2016”; “Hillary Clinton Doesn’t Deserve the Black Vote”; “Ohio Wants Hillary 4 Prison”; “Hillary is Satan, and her crimes and lies had proved just how evil she is.” African American voters—the bread and butter of the Democratic base vote—appear to have been targeted more aggressively than any other demographic, to turn them against Clinton or to dissuade them from voting altogether. “A particular hype and hatred for Trump is misleading the people and forcing Blacks to vote Killary,” said the IRA-invented Woke Blacks. “We cannot resort to the lesser of two devils. Then we’d surely be better off without voting AT ALL.”

The IRA-created United Muslims of America posted an ad that read, “American Muslim voters refuse to vote for Hillary Clinton because she wants to continue war on Muslims in the middle east and voted yes for invading Iraq.” An official-sounding but fake “TEN_GOP” account—often assumed to be registered to the Republicans’ state party in Tennessee—shouted out a make-believe story about the election board in Broward County illegally counting tens of thousands of fraudulent mail-in ballots marked for Hillary. #VoterFraud!!! “Heart of Texas” was also actively corrosive. Its ads decried the “Islamization” of Texans’ once great republic and urged God-fearing Christians in Texas to protest the Islamic Da’wah Center in Houston, which had opened its doors more than a decade earlier as a center for worship, education, and outreach to the wider community. The “Heart of Texas” post in the spring of 2016 called the Islamic center a “shrine of hatred” and suggested that protesters “feel free to bring along your firearms, concealed or not!” American anti-Muslim protesters in fact turned out, holding white power symbols and Confederate flags, denouncing the Da’wah Center, at the time and place directed by “Heart of Texas.” Houston police had a volatile situation on their hands when a separate and opposing group of protesters—there to support Muslims in general and the Da’wah Center in particular—showed up on the same day, at the same time, across the street. Turns out they’d been unwittingly summoned from St. Petersburg, too, by a separate Russian-controlled fake American entity called United Muslims of America."

I understand it is not any access of private data but freely available metadata embedded in the videos. Hack is a broad term encompassing both legal and illegal activities.

Seems so.   If you attempt to overthrow an election with violence, you go to jail.  If you lie about the results of an election, you lose your account.  If your users are constantly posting dangerous lies and you don't moderate your site you can't find anyone to host your site. If you allow someone on your website to claim someone else is a pedophile and they aren't, you get sued.   What part of that are you not ok with?

Wave a slavery flag and I call you an extreme racist as well as a person willing to use violence against America.   That war started with an attack on a defensive military base.    More then one in five who fought to keep slaves died.

Wave a swastika and I will call you an aggressive asswipe also comfortable with the enslavement and murder of entire races.  We used to deprogram those people with a device called the liberator.

Promote the overthrow democracy on lies and I will call you a dangerous criminal.   That makes you fortunate.

The truly stupid thing is that these people don't understand that opening the door to violence is opening the door to unspeakable horrors visited on them, and most likely the extermination of their families.

They should -want- to keep 'the new civil war' as a police matter. The police and the courts are much much nicer to them than a black militia would be.

Parler's back

The website for Parler, the social media app popular with right-wing groups, returned to the internet Sunday afternoon (Monday AEDT) with a message for the company’s “lovers and haters”.

“Now seems like the right time to remind you all - both lovers and haters - why we started this platform,” the message reads. “We believe privacy is paramount and free speech essential, especially on social media. Our aim has always been to provide a nonpartisan public square where individuals can enjoy and exercise their rights to both. We will resolve any challenge before us and plan to welcome all of you back soon. We will not let civil discourse perish!”

Parler, which refers to itself as a “free speech” alternative to Twitter, was booted out of the Apple App Store and the Google Play store and kicked off of Amazon Web Services last week after the January 6 Capitol riot.

According to CNN, Parler is now hosted by Epik, which supports Gab and 8chan, which are popular among far-right groups because of their lax moderation standards.

Parler filed an anti-trust lawsuit against Amazon last week after AWS cut off Parler’s service, but Amazon fired back, defending its decision because Parler had shown an “unwillingness and inability” to remove violent content. Several Parler users encouraged “bloodshed” during the riot.

I don't know if it is really back yet - all they have is a front page.

It will be interesting as Parler now has to compete with Gab which has adopted millions of its users.  Which platform will they choose?  Maybe they will have a little war between them for the hearts and minds of their zealot users.

As for Epik, it is convenient that we have both the major sites (Parler and Gab) supporting QAnon and the Alt-Right on one hosting platform.  That will make it easier for Anonymous to do their thing.

Some interesting information on Epik here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epik_(company)

Definitely a bad actor in the web hosting business.  Cloud services companies won't touch them.

That's all part of your Democrat party history and is well documented so I can't blame you for being ashamed of yourself even though you never approved, condoned or participated. However murdering innocent dark skin women and children in far away lands with drones is cowardly and evil too but you show absolutely no remorse for participating in that. Funny how that works.

Are you really lacking intelligence?

Are you new here?

Another day, and Parler is thankfully still just a front page with a few posts on it.  Maybe the Parler techs don't speak Russian and are having trouble communicating with their hosting site?  Strange, I read that Epik had taken Parler on, so the Russian server thing is a bit of a mystery.

Is that the one they stole out of Pelosi's office that they were going to sell back to the Russians?

Nunes.  But you knew that.

You probably also believe Putin had compromising materials on Trump and was using it to dictate US policy. Or that Trump was a straight up Russian agent. Or all the other bullshit that went on for years in the Drip drip drip thread.

Were you disappointed to learn that the president of the United States did not collude with Russia?
