Oh the irony.  Isn't that exactly what is driving you and your ilk?  Over 65 with comorbidities, trying to queue jump for a vaccine so you can get your boat out as soon as possible.  Not giving a stuff about those who have to work for a living let alone the young who are not affected by Covid-19.

If the young are unaffected by covid what is the issue with them having to wait for the Vax then?

You stupid cockwomble, I work 50 hours per week currently, I don't give a damn when I get the vaccine, I'll take it when its offered, but I'm guessing that won't be this year. I sold my boat. I am nowhere near 65 and I don't have any significant comorbidities. How about you stick to talking about things about which you know something... that's a pretty small oeuvre, I grant.

I see no reason why Sir Ben may not want to after yesterday, in the UK we are resilient, we recognise that things have not gone as well as we would have liked, hopefully Sir Jim is in for the long run on this project.

We will have plenty more things to cheer in sports this year, Lewis Hamilton is very likely to continue his winning ways in the German financed car built in the UK, if the Olympics is held then we can look forward to our cyclists getting a great haul of medals.

All of this will take the focus off of INEOS whilst they regroup.

Old boy you have taken two completely unrelated statistics and related them to contort this meaningless number to support your (may I say) misguided sense of superiority. Your fact that the Uk grew in size by three times the population of NZ in your lifetime is exactly the same as the fact that your dick grew three times its size in your life time.

Neither are in the slightest impressive.

"measured against a 5 to 10 year mean

Is that mean 7.5 years?  Or a mean somewhere between 5 and 10 that suits a particular narrative?  You just choose which one that suits at the time?

Accuracy was never your forte was it Jacko?

JS  "UK Excess Deaths measured against a 5 to 10 year mean"

KateShortBob  "Is that mean 7.5 years?  Or a mean somewhere between 5 and 10 that suits a particular narrative?  You just choose which one that suits at the time?

Accuracy was never your forte was it Jacko?"

Meli Comprehension WAS AND IS NEVER your forte.

First what is my "particular narrative" there, other than pointing out a data result?

You won't answer that.

Here in bullet points to help your train of thought trapped in a Vic Rail caboose.

- "Excess Deaths" WHERE?
NOT UK BUT ENGLAND & WALES

then

- SOURCE? - Not Nominated. European Government Sponsored OR Private?

EUROPEAN GOVERMENT SPONSORED

- Measured by the UK Office of National Statistics (ONS) OR the 'European Mortality Monitoring Project' or EuroMOMO (UK one of 24 countries and 4 UK Unions who are project participants) OR 'Eurostat' ??. BUT UK 'Eurostat' participation part 2020 only.

- If 'Excess Deaths' by ONS then 'P Score Baseline' data - 5 YEARS.

- If 'Excess Deaths' by EuroMOMO, Baseline data is 4 YEARS then using EITHER a  'P Score' OR 'Z Score' referenced to a Zero Baseline.

PRIVATE SOURCES - Baseline varies usually 3 to 10 YEARS

WHICH ONE IS IT?

Only a guess and as EuroMOMO report Excess Deaths earlier than ONS.

EuroMOMO, Baseline DATA of 4 YEARS (excl measured year) using 'Z Score' with ZERO BASELINE for EACH of England and Wales and VARIANCE TOTAL is then SUMMED.

The shorter baseline data, would NOT suit anyone overstating excess deaths as high flu deaths year in that 4 years is NOT smoothed out over a longer period. The reverse applies.

WRONG I posted a screen shot of HIS notifications after 'he claimed' - 'I claimed' I wasn't Australian or from there and also autistic. So with that, these words.

LB 2 boards is hardly a quiver and hardly imaginary, with one 45 years old.

As for your time management/internet related suggestion and their use, being "not as often as I would like". My opportunities and constraints in that regard are;

- Retired, retired with sailboat, sailboat with internet, but sail boat and surfing don''t mix outside destination specific tours. Which for longer ones is no crowds/high quality v longer tour intervals.

LB you on the other hand;

- Work, work is sailboats, have van, surfing and van good mix, but crowds/lesser quality but shorter tour intervals.

So we do have an apple and a orange there.

That only leaves YOUR work and internet, which I have already made a suggestion. As your memory off the boil today I'm happy to re-post.

I not inviting, then there always that 'Humping Troll Refresher Course'.

As the 6 hours you spent trying to argue that you know more about the history of leg ropes than anyone else on a sailing forum yesterday clearly shows.

This is not necessarily a good thing. School , university, young party member, mentored learning how the party and politics works then finally, if one of the skilled ones, into parliament.

During their passage they learn fuck all about anything, apart from how to game the system. With our MMP system they also need to learn how to suck up to the leader and make zero waves so they can move up the list and be guaranteed a place for life.

I don't see how this creates anyone that can lead and stand up for themselves, let alone their electorate. Just a bunch of entitled, selfish wannabes full of their own spin.

Many of the old time Politicians got their University Qualifications after working at the coal face for a few years in hard dirty jobs if they got them at all. (I don't think Keating had a degree, OTOH, Hawke was of course a Rhodes Scholar)

These days, most work for Lawyers or some other wankery.

with respect, you dont need to have a labouring job to be a rounded politician, but you do need empathy with the working classes if you intend to represent them. unfortunately most politicians seem to be at the behest of their career funders i.e. big business interests.

An education does help. Not sure degrees in things like political 'science' and such like help. The real problem is the disconnect with the average punter. They also are scared of making mistakes,so it is all about shifting blame. Consultants get paid to look into everything at large sums of money to give the MPs someone to blame. Never any accepted of responsibility any more, just pay for more spin and wait for the event to distract.

No sorry all you have done is reduce the swelling its still there with you and will re appear as you move out of summer. wile your lockdown was more restrictive than some places its still only a social lockdown and for your power, water , food , Health care to function required people to go to work. I feel very sorry you were alone for 112 days the psychological effects must be horrendous for you and all that were in the same boat. The bit that's missed is that at some point we will need to face this and make our own choices and that might mean staying at home. But the reality is that we will need a three part approach to the problem 1. Vaccine   2. Hurd immunity 3. The weak die. Now the politician's cant say the third.  Or we yo yo in and out of social restrictions leaving us with much bigger problems.

Melbourne bought themselves time to get item 1 working. Is that nothing to you?
