I'm interested in buying an optima 101 (UK), but I am missing a piece of history. The yacht broker claims it's a Dehler DB2, which is obviously not the case. I could identify it as the former "Ushaka". It joined the Fastnet in 2017. The same boat seemed to have done the 'Round the Island' in 2012 (same owner, same sailnumber), but at that time it was listed as a Dehler DB1 and the name was "Snake Bite". The name 'Ushaka' is now removed from the hull, but the drawing of a snake bite is still visible.

It all sounds strange to me, but maybe there is some logical explanation. For me it's important to know when the boat is built (VAT tax rules, for The Netherlands) and to get a picture about how the boat is used. Any information is usefull.

There was a thread here not long ago about it. As I recall, the DB1, DB2, Dehler 35, and Optima 101 were all the same hull with different rigs/interiors/keels... maybe you’ll find it with the search function.

Yes, that's right. The DB1, DB2, Optima 101, Optima 106 and Dehler 34 all have the same hull.
