Reasons 1, 2 and 3 why I still visit SA most days

Recommended Posts

This thread,   But especially post 34 - straight from the horses mouth!

This thread , especially post 45.......

And this thread:  especially post 15....

They are all great threads, but those posts make them classic and the reason to keep coming back, even after being a member for 15years....

Those are indeed great threads and posts. When I started SA all those years ago, I had little concept of community. While growing SA, I also worked in talk radio and for a short while, got hired by E-Trade to do a business talk radio show. One of the guys that hired us also had a stock trader forum and it was there that I started to see how online communities could develop.

I started to think that we could create a community and encouraged readers to submit content and started the forums as ways to make the site about the community. I think it has worked pretty well.

That first forums was the brain child of Scot's partner, Paul Bishop. He sent me the link and BAM download and install. Some of the first members were quite a group.

while you had much to do with getting and keeping sa going, starting a forum was what i wanted to do - he may have sent you a link, but that was part of my 'vision', such as it was. he quit early on when he revealed that was anything but an anarchist. best thing that could have ever happened. rip, sinclair bishop.

Better than "pretty well".

IMO it's the single best site on the web.

Hobots thread is the single best thread on the web.

Oh wait, I just revealed how sad and empty my life is.... sorry, hurry along here.

some of my highlights were the tin can and the flying Hawaiian, it was like watching a train wreak with commenters. I live in bay area and enjoyed adding comments about sightings, etc.

Speaking of bun fights...I'm still awaiting the return of the Lord of the best bun fight I've witnessed here...Lord Dubin. He has certainly gone for a long midnight stroll in his beloved Hong Kong.

Perhaps the late Reggie Bennett, the founder of the Imperial Poona Yacht Club became material again, and took him out to the dock for a good caning.

The Anarchists with Cancer thread was worthy of being bound into a coffee table book and left in every cancer treatment waiting room on the planet.

Pardon the generalisation on the name, can't remember the proper title.

1000 Days thread.

Not the reason I came here, but the thread that I remember the most.

It is the exact reason I wound up here. Someone sent me a link and I read the whole thread from Post #1.

Me too, always sad to see a real contributor pass on.

Makes me wonder about some of the blogs/vlogs I follow, some are going to end before me and that's going to be hard.

Lord Cosplay of Kellett Island. But you stinking shit covered masturbating monkeys will never understand.

What could be more terrifying than a mustached man in a bed sheet and double plungers coming at you on a moonlight stroll.
