Beginning to find the entire event a waste of time. Win the start, win the race. Magnificent boats, great technology, allegedly the best skippers and tacticians in the world (debatable). How do the 2 best drivers each manage to foul up the start in consecutive races.  Were I a conspiracy theorist I’d suspect the convention and tourist bureau had a hand in this to prolong the event.

Go watch Nascar perhaps!

Fucks sake, when people try and help, whether Mozzy or whomever. Instead of knocking their efforts why don't you move on or crawl back into your dark little holes. You obviously watched it or you wouldn't be able to criticise the content and not everyone is the font of all knowledge like some of the tossers on here think they are. Instead of mouthing off about others why not do something constructive yourselves.

In China with a joint venture Chinese company. I wonder why he didnt use the TNZ boatyard after the cup. Maybe not a good look.

Half right. McConaghy is not a JV. Facility in ZhuHai just over an hour drive from us. Boat is looking good and their sailing cats are pretty sweet too.

So you're a bit closer to the actual action with regards Chinese sailing... Think they'll challenge for AC37?

That might be a bit early but funds wouldn't be a problem with over 250 billionaires in the country. This Cup certainly has garnered a lot of interest.

When we read RG, listen to TE, or watch the 2 italian guys videos, they are often inspired by the forum, we don't call them plagiarist.

Don't follow Mozzy, but ..... those four all use factual informaion plus their own experience and insights to deliver readable/watchable content.

Yeah, those big foils are a problem!

I reckon the slightly higher overall package efficiency of TR - allowing higher speed moding than LR gives them a little more kinetic energy to ride through a hole or a tack.  They might be slightly advantaged at 6-7kts over LR

I’m 20 km south of the race course and it’s a steady breeze, but what I’m learning is where I live and the harbour bear little correlation in regards to wind speed.

WHat little wind there is, just shifted about 90 degrees. Clouds filling in over land though.

Tricky stuff. Watch ETNZ TWS at 7-8, LRPP keeps dropping into the 6's

It may be my imagination, but I feel like Luna Rossa's TWS reading is almost always 1.5-2 knots less than ETNZ, even when they're in the same patch of water.

Agreed

You assume it is just a lottery, but if one boat has a distinctly better capability to foil consistently at the bottom end of the rule specified wind range then they are likely (and deserve) to win.

Looking at the footage up the course, I don't think it is an inaccurate assumption.

Bullshit.... he's a plagiarist.... pure and simple

For some around here, if you agree with someone, they're plagiarizing. If you disagree, they're an ignoramus. Must be nice to be brilliant and perfect and always know everything first.

Have hoisted top on a beer, lazyboy trimmed to perfection, shore crew are quiet, and the dog is in the hold on the back lawn. Too hot for the red socks. Be asleep in minutes if no racing soon..

They have used legs in the past, I think Baron Bic in the 12's was the first. The bikes would probably be too much windage on these things.

on video you can _clearly_ see that they sail into a hole, with several kts less wind than ETNZ.

After doing a big long soak that dropped them to 20kt.

The hole prevented acceleration but the damage was done.

I am not looking forward the cup ends in Italian hands.
An old civil war between rich and poor is what I was told the mafia is.

And to settle it, make a rightfull government..

Possible, not even hard, but feasible.

I am pretty convinced the cup is a pre set game.
To give the cup to the Italians is a dangerous move.
With much more foul play ahead.

Maleducatamente disimformato e pieno di preconcetti. Complimenti, Il gran visir del luogo comune.
