How come no foil collisions?

Recommended Posts

Are the waters around Auckland so pristine there is nothing to hit? No sunfish, logs, floating containers? Videos of TR foiling into the harbor get me on edge.

Not pristine but pretty good. There are boats that go around the harbour specifically pulling rubbish out of the water. Bad storms can add a few washed out trees to the water, that can make things interesting.

I had that exact thought, a shopping trolley or flotsam smashing into the foil. I guess the waters are pristine.

Kiwi shopping trolleys are steel and any tendency to float is somewhere between zero and SFA.

Sharks exempted?

I expect the 'commentator's' curse will now test the, Waitemata. Will it be ETNZ or LRPP?

Was just about to say the same.

You do get the occasional plastic one, but very few relatively speaking.

No, it's the same down there......my not thinking and forgetting that most lie rusting on the bottom.
