This is the book I bought in SF. It has many gimmicks inside, as you can see below, and it's very much fun to read it over and over again.

Really amazing book Renn, it has been my birthday gift this year, and for Christmas I bought this

Really great book, with fantastic pics by Gilles Martin Raget. I bought the Kindle edition, but it's worth to buy the paper version.

Wow, this looks amazing. Having watched DZ and CZ in VLC, I am enormously interested in this particular AC. Next Christmas can't come fast enough :).

You won't be disappointed, it's really interesting :) . It's one side of the story, but it's really full of details ! I really enjoyed it.

Edit : and yes, I love the word "really". Really :D

Bought it too, not done but it’s basically a bond novel in the sailing world.

Just finished this. I liked it, although I'm not sure that this "pumping technique" was the real key to Otusa's success. I think the key was the change in sailing philosophy and the big mods to the wingsail and to the rudder foils (this is also discussed in the book).

Two more books I want to share. The first is "Lone Wolf" by Richard Gladwell. I liked it, a nice behind the scene of ETNZ  preparation for the 35th AC. The second one is "Inside Luna Rossa", just in Italian at the moment, and that's brand new, it has arrived today. Can't wait to read it, since it's also the first book about AC36. It's the story of Romano Battisti, here's his bio from LR website

"Romano's rowing career started in the Forest Rangers youth division, moving on to the CC Aniene where he still rows in the Fiamme Gialle sports group. In the 2012 London Olympics he won the silver medal in the in the double scull. Since 2001, to date he has participated in two Olympics campaigns, 11 World Championships, of which he won 2, and 8 European Championships. He is also been Italian Champion 16 times. In recent years he decided to approach the world of sailing specializing in the role of grinder, his new passion."

I watched some of his interviews (and he's very present in the web serie "Challengers for Now") and he seems a great person.

That has to be the most stupidly named book shown so far. 99.999% of the world were unaware, and of the remainder I don't think anyone was stunned apart from Larry Ellison and a chap named Clarence. And he was only stunned when the book fell off the top shelf and hit him on the head

I think it'll be really interesting to read a few different narratives/perspectives/views on just how ETNZ  were able to pick up 4.5 kilometres to win in a 5 legged race 2021, that was truely gobsmacking to watch and comprehend

Hey Folks-  I figure this thread is a good place to ask if anyone saw a particular documentary about the design and build of Stars & Stripes '87, in fact it was about the whole Stars & Stripes challenge.

I think it was narrated by Burt Lancaster and featured great footage of design team meetings, lofting, tank tests, the build, the prep, crew training in the gym (The gym was a dark, dank basement.  The guy in charge explained that the only things you should find in a gym are "weights and pain."   LOVE IT.), practice in Hawaii, interviews with sailmakers about the sail program and lots more.   Absolutely fascinating stuff for those of us who are into that kind of thing.

If anyone knows what it was called or where I can score a copy please let me know!

Cheers!  Serge
