Be interested in AC contest, where in the vessels were conventionals, as in Etchells, Solings, 6 Meters etd.

Surely, this take has been aired in past, and seems very sensible, to me.

As tis, just a good example, of hole in water to pour money into...am sure advantanges will eventurally prove a decent notion...

so, what you want is to see an Etchells, Soling, or 6 Meter worlds. none of those are the america's cup, but feel free to raise the funds, form a team, hire designers and builders and sailors, win the cup, have a hip pocket agreeable  COR and put this together through mutual consent.  or not.

... as long as the Etchells, Solings, or 6 Meters are at least 44ft LWL, and it's a 1:1 match.

Deed etc, maybe need rewording....I thought it varied, contest to contest, with host declaration...I like the 12s and, in a curious way, the recent , cats...but no longer...gone to the head.

I have entertained the notion for sometime, but that be me.

Why and what would you like to reword (in) the DoG?

Yet, it got two more or less complete rewrites by the original donor and 2 amendments in its 164 years of existence, so I wouldn't exactly call it "varied, contest to contest". You probably mean the Defender/Challenger agreements, later called "protocols".

Nope, the vessels' max and min dimensions cannot be changed by MC. The NYSC/AG were required to amend the Deed with a lower LWL size, when 65ft were deemed too expensive after WWII.
There are some specifics that are not negotiable.

MCable things:

Quote

(...) dates, courses, number of trials, rules and sailing regulations, and any and all other conditions of the match, in which case also the ten months’ notice may be waived. (...)

Here’s my 10cents worth as a Kiwi tax and ratepayer that is subsidising TNZ.
The AC has always been a design race not a one design race take away that aspect and you might as well go watch Etchells crawl around a course.

What piques my interest in the event is the design evolution and technological progression hopefully the AC75 gets a reasonably established lifespan that continues to pique the interest of billionaires.

Why a DoG? Just do match and previoous winner calls shots? As it is, stricktly a novelty,

If Winner club totally ignored DOG  , NY  court would remove the club as trustee , remove trophy from their control.
The cup cannot be repurposed. There is a deeed of gift which must be adhered to.
