I looked all over IKEA for that piece, but just found the swimsuit, the legs and the torso as separates and the Allen key was missing.

I can still feel the 1/2 gallon of sweat in each boot as I lumber forward towards the objective :)

And of course I'm also wondering why the rear security has lost his rife....

That Falcon Ranchero did not come out until 1957, but it looks like a 1960 to me.  I guess that is "circa" enough for me.

You can only have one choice; door #1, door #2, or door #3

I am thinking a 280 and that was; along with the 230 and 250, were considered a "woman's car" back then..

Funny, the 190 SL was considered a "prostitutes" car in Europe kind of like how Subaru's are considered a lesbian car here.

The story of this car is the owner sent in back to MBZ in Stuttgart to get it rebuilt.  In the process he passed away and the kids didn't want it so they gave it to the MBZ Mussume..  Effing beautiful...

Hopefully.  You might need a nuclear weapon detonation about 5 miles away to do the job properly.

As a teenager, I worked at a Foreign Car Shop after High School.  280SL was my favorite, and I got to drive a couple from time to time.  The 250 is far rarer, so more valuable to collectors. Later on, I was a yacht rigger but still in touch with my old boss who had a '59 300SL roadster, not the gull wing model.  It was totally restored.  We went to the Vintage races at Lime Rock where he raced an Alpha Gullia, that he had raced as a young man in SCCA, and bought back from the guy who had it now.  Now it was vintage racing.  We had brought the 300 SL for the Concourse on Sunday, as well as a Dino Ferrari.  My GF, who later become SWMBO, and I drove the SL across the border to New York for some provisions, one morning.   Then we drove the Dino back home to CT after it was over.  While they were giving out Concourse awards Sunday, and everyone was looking that way, GF and former bosses wife stole the large BMW flag that was hanging at the back of the tent, and it was displayed at the aforementioned Foreign Car Shop for years later..
