TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis emerged victorious in a recent Western Conservative Summit straw poll of potential 2024 presidential candidates.

The poll was taken during last weekend’s Western Conservative Summit hosted by The Centennial Institute, Colorado Christian University’s public policy think tank. Around 500 people came to a Denver hotel to attend the event in-person, while tens of thousands watched online.

1. Ron DeSantis - 74.12%
2. Donald Trump - 71.43%
3. Ted Cruz - 42.86%
4. Mike Pompeo - 39.35%
5. Tim Scott - 35.58%

That's quite a lineup...  But no Marjorie Taylor-Greene or Tucker Carlson or Rudy Giuliani?

"That's my guy".

Just being stupid (with a fascist haircut) is not enough for DeSantis to win. TFG has shown it takes an entire buffet of negatives to charm The Base. Can DeSantis flush out his qualifications with porn stars and shitstain pics? Does he have TFG's deep bench of cronies and felons? That DeSantis actually made an effort to get to where he is disqualifying, no?

Problem is he's not stupid.  He just acts that way, pandering to intellectually incapacitated - which makes up most of the die-hard base.

He's far more dangerous than Dick a l'orange.  A snake with a brain.

I'll vote for De santa, just so he's not Governor of Florida any more

Not sure I follow that logic.  Last I checked, Florida is still a state of the Union.  DeSantis spreading Floriduh to the country.....at least now we can leave for a break, of course any direction (except maybe south or east) gets us someplace worse for a while.

Does anyone have the question that was posed?  Silly me likes it when the %s add to 100.

Would these be the same waters that Nestle has contracted with the state to bottle and sell on the retail market at a 10,000% mark up?

DeSantis doesn’t speak gibberish.   How will he communicate stupid policy to the Republican base?

More entertainingly, how will Trump react?    I assume he spent the night asking foreign powers to manufacture dirt on DeSantis while booking superspreader events?   Which dictator will help an ex Pres who lacks quid pro quo?  Which candidate can book more indoor unvaccinated campaign events?

Desantis does speak gibberish, he just does it more eloquently than TFG.

They teamed up together here in Florida on ore than one occasion.  Maybe they can take each other out of contention.

I was guessing being "mean girls" to each other if they both actually run.  I doubt both will though, one or the other.

The Orange One will find this disturbing. Ron would be well advised to get to Mar a Lago and kiss the ring without delay.

That they don't pay for? Oh and don't forget to stiff the security and entertainment, too

You brought the snacks, right?

Home of the free? Not with Captain Ron around.

There's no question Ronny is just as much a fascist as Donny.

BTW, how does one "register their political views"?

Let's see...

Anti-politician
Pro term limits
Against the political party duopoly
Pro civil rights
Anti campaign financing

No doubt Ronny will want me working on his campaign...

I have not heard about this.  If true, it seems it would fail very quickly in court?  (question mark intentional)

What next? Bring back loyalty oaths? Instead of Communism ,this time you will have to swear that you are not a Democrat or have ever voted against a Republican.

And you have to give equal time to facts and bullshit in the classroom. Plus equal time for several different Christian religious views on the matter, although that should rank under "bullshit". So we're down to one part fact to seven parts bullshit, which is about right for Fox viewers. Double the bullshit for Daily Caller viewers.
