SimonGH 73
Ok, dumb question Where do you get the replacement wire rings that secure the pins through safety line clevises? They look like your keychain ring, but thinner gauge and obviously I want 316SS. I ordered what I thought would work from Amazon (advertised as scuba rings) but they're way too big to fit through the little hole in the end of the clevis pin... I can see them on lots of things on Defender's website but not sold separately. I figured I could buy a whole bunch in a bag somewhere, but at this point I'm just going to have to make them from safety wire...?
Son of Hans 53
West Marine sells a kit of them in various sizes.
Ruminator 156
You mean these? If so, Sea-Dog makes them. However, the normal versions tend to snag on asym sheets, shorts, etc. Sea-Dog : Quality Marine, Industrial and Rigging Hardware So we started using fishing tackle split rings (second picture). Better quality SS and virtually no-snag design (usually a good thing when using monofilament line). However, some are so strong that they are virtually impossible to get seated on something approaching the diameter of the clevis pin. The plus side is that you can get them in almost any diameter. And once they are on, their not coming off inadvertently...

Ruminator already pointed towards the less accidental removal prone variant. But anything against ordinary split pins?
