josedesmar 0
Ahead of the Supreme Court's decision to be released tomorrow January 14 and following the typo 'keel Yacht' in their challenge filed in July, Oracle will be forced by the New York judge to race with a 90 x 90 feet 'keel Yacht' As Oracle's got unlimited budget, they already secretly launched a first boat and our sources are telling us that they are expected to launch their second one within the next few days to begin their long testing campaign. Note that this 'keel yacht' is still not quite as wide as described in their Notice of Challenge to make it 'valid' .... But it is getting closer. It is not known if Russell Coutts was on board for the maiden voyage of Oracle's latest weapon.
Theoretic 0
Taken at a secret testing spot. So they are still trying very hard to keep top secrecy about it really being a hovercraft, thus no spray visible in the picture, as they don't start the engines, untill it's dark out there. But then there is allways the possibility and the rumour would suggest this being the case, that this is a vessel used to distract people for into thinking it being a challenging vessel and drawing attention out of the real one, and later used as a support vessel with a massive crane to lift the big wing out and into the real multi used as a challenging vessel so the big multi could be more easily docked. Hastings 0
Taken at a secret testing spot. Unless this has a winged keel and foils on either side, it may not do the job. It had also better have a cappuccino machine !

Stingray 50
Wow! I've made the big time, I've been plagiarised by Scuttlebutt. It's running at VS too, pretty cute! See Tom Schnackenberg's barge and Monday's hearing in the NY Supreme Court The VS piece also includes this unfortunate bit: -- As far as Monday, January 14, is concerned, all eyes will be turned to the NY Supreme Court. Starting 9:30 am (3:30pm European time), Justice Cahn will hear the arguments of both sides in order to issue the settlement order. Undoubtedly, the thorniest issue is the date of the America's Cup match. BMW Oracle wants it to take place on the 1st, 3rd and 5th (if needed) of October 2008 while Alinghi would rather race in July 2009. Hopefully we will have some indication at least on Monday evening. Still, we might be in for further delays. According to Gerardo Pombo, president of the Spanish Sailing Federation (RFEV), unless Justice Cahn orders the two teams to race 18 months from now, Alinghi will file an appeal against the settlement order. Pombo made that statement during a private conversation in a group of several people. Whether this turns out to be true will be known shortly but it wouldn't come as a surprise. --
