The numbers spell it out 44 democratic congressmen ( the blue dogs) will not vote for a bill containing public option and 57 far left Democratic congressmen (black caucus and the pelosi crowd) will not vote for a bill that does NOT contain a public option. In either case they would be short votes unless they have republican support - which is far more likely without the public option. Time for Nancy to show some leadership instead of rhetoric.

Watch how the above Lib attempts to twist the topic and evade the original subject of Racism. B)

I don't think TMSail is going to appreciate your calling him a Lib. just sayin.

And speaking of sayin': Really, we all know that there is no racism in America. And the fear card doesn't work. Which is why the Right just keeps playing it. It's an enigma. wrapped in a conundrum. led by a snaredrum.

Obama has a stacked deck of race cards --hell -they even painted Bill Clinton as a racsists and used it effectively against Hillary

The double standards --and not just with the now meaningless overused racsism card --never occur to them or how little credibility they have left to any but the hardcore 20%

a good reminder of them since 2003

Maureen Dowd wrote another unfortunate, poorly argued, and thinly researched column yesterday. She alleges that racism is behind the growing suspicion of the Obama administration and its initiatives. But almost everything we've seen so far has a parallel with liberal attacks on George W. Bush. By 2005, Democrats were booing him openly during his State of the Union address. Rep. Pete Stark called him a liar on the House floor. In fact, the response so far to Obama is mild in comparison to what Bush endured. That does not excuse the boorishness of Joe Wilson, but his tirade is symbolic of our loss of decorum since 2002/2003.

As we all remember, novels were published outlining dreams of killing Bush; a film on that theme won an award. Al Gore, John Glenn (of all people!), and Robert Byrd compared Bush to a brownshirt or Nazi, and they were echoed in the popular culture by the likes of Linda Rondstadt and Garrison Keiler ("brownshirts in pinstripes"). There was no liberal outcry in response.

The Guardian published a sick column

Have another cup of coffee and get back to us - it is Monday so I'll give you a pass on reading comprehension.

The Title of the Article was: Democrats see race factor for Barack Obama foes

The premise of the article is that many DEMOCRATS have the view that any opposition to President Obama is based on race. My Point with the numbers is that the reason Health care is not moving forward is a democratic problem nothing to do with racism. You changed it to a Republican bash.

I have no problem reading or writing. I guess I have to put a big smiley face on anything funny though. It's ok, it gives me one more dig at your ACORN IN CHARGE OF US CENSUS from another thread. Billions, it's billions I tell ya.

This is the politico trying to manufacture a news story. Have any of the dems or repubs during debates regarding this health care brought up race?

Nope. But I'm sure they will now. So by virtue of the politco MANUFACTURING the story for them (whispers? Really? That's reporting now? Sounds more like a fucking gossip column to me) anyone who wants to claim racism will be able to. Unfortunately, that also means a big chuck of the population will jump behind the plan. Fighting national healthcare is just another way the man will keep us down.

Apparently, unlike Republicans, some Democratic Party member have a mind of their own and are willing to cross party lines to vote for what they believe.

Counting on all 44 'Blue Dogs' to vote against the bill rather than just abstain is rather optimistic, but then Republicans haven't got anything left but hope.

The bill is a disaster not only for political moderates and centrists but mainly for the nation and economic ruin it will bring .

There is no realistic economic pro forma for govt care --Obama says 900 billion? {but details need to be worked out? --he was laughed at in his speech --the speech had no effect in the polls either --No one is buying into it .

People that understand ths are not "racsists" --or organized mobs --or swaztika carrying Unamerican organized mobs -- etc etc etc .

Don't you just hate black people that hate black people?........

it happens more then you would think.

That lady at a townhall literally crying tears while saying

"I want my America back" is most representitive of what

is happening. It's not the type of racism involving hatred

of race. It's just that a lot of people are afraid of them.

Like you say black people are scared of black people too. This

ingrained fear of the "other", and blacks in general

is being exploited by some unscrupulous and/or extremely

ignorant people by means of the "dog whistles" Rove talks about.

This tactic of stoking an ingrained fear of the "other", a common

political trick, unfortunately means that for Obama it's

about stoking the fires of white fear. It's almost

just stoking the fear of poor people. Almost, but not quite.

Nevertheless, it's mighty disgusting.

It's called a bounce - I'm guessing that it will go back under 50 in a few weeks. If not the Dem's should have no fear ramming it through by themselves. It is Ironic that the poll talks about support for Obama's plan - I watched the speech and came away wondering what plan he was actually promoting; TORT reform springs to mind he talked about it, said we needed it, yet there is nothing in 3200 that addresses TORT reform.

If 12% increase in approval is just a "bounce", Obama would do well to give a speech every month.

Of course that is a possibility, but these people are concerned about next years election and if a large part of their constituents are against a public option they would be lumped in with the Democratic party. Saying I abstained just wouldn't cut it in my opinion. On the other hand if a group of Blue dogs vote absent it reduces the number needed to join the Republicans to vote against the bill.

It's pretty easy to skew the numbers when you ask 1/3 more Democrats than Republicans how Obama did on his speech.

http://www.cbsnews.com/htdocs/pdf/poll_hea...ain;contentBody

What?

CBS News skewed their poll sample to favor Democrats?

Oh, my, I am shocked.

What next - fabricating National Guard documents on 60 Minutes?

And Boobbrain didn't bother to read the link. Uh, what should CBS do? Keep calling until they find enough Republicans to balance the numbers? It might have something to do with the fewer numbers who call themselves Republican these days? I mean, did anyone notice the high % of Independents?

That is if anyone bothered to actually read, oh, never mind, what was I thinking.

"If you don't agree with me then you are a racist" hardly makes for much of a dialogue.

Suggested alternatives:

"If you don't agree with me then you are a lib"

"If you don't agree with me then you hate me for my freedom"
