Guest
The Hill Its interesting that the supporters of the public option and what not have always maintained that if you could afford your own cadillac insurance - then nothing will change for you because you will still be free to buy what you want. But the devil is always in the details and now it appears that the dems are going to pay for this abortion on the backs of those who can afford their own inusrance. When you add an additional 35% excise tax onto an already expensive insurance premium - you will effectively move closer to what many opponents fear most about this reform bill - that it will water down coverage across the board. Thos who previously COULD afford their own plan now may likely be driven to a lower cost alternative or public funding because 35% additional is a HUGE chunk of change!
