roundthebuoys 1,004
Jeb Bush: GOP can't be 'old white guy party' By Eric Zimmermann - 10/23/09 03:15 PM ET The GOP needs to shed its image as the "old white guy party," Jeb Bush said this week. Speaking at George Washington University, Bush said Republicans need to reach out to a more diverse group of voters. "You don't have to be a rocket scientist to realize that in order for a political party to be successful it has to reach out to everyone," Bush said, according to the GW Hatchet. "In politics, you never win when you say 'us and them.' We need a more welcoming message." Finally, seizing on a DNC talking point, Bush suggested his party needs to come up with more ideas of its own. "We just can't be the party of no," he said. "Republicans need to offer, based on their own principles, solutions to these problems." Bush also hinted that his party has come across as intolerant at times. "Tone matters,” he said, according to New Majority. "In twenty or so years our country will have a minority majority."
Sol Rosenberg 10,116
He was a pretty good governor. Too bad they couldn't have run him for Pres before his brother. I suspect they would have, if Walkin Lawton Chiles hadn't beaten him the first time he ran, and set the plan back four years. His brother pretty effectively shit the bed for him getting to the White House, unfortunately. He's right. He's been saying things like this for a while. Neither the meeeedia or the GOP seem to want to highlight his comments, for some reason.
PoliticallyIncorrect 59
Jeb's the only Bush worth paying attention to. We all know GWB is a complete idiot and unworthy of his father's good first & last name. The other Bush boy, Neal, is a flat-out crook, as demonstrated by the Colorado Silverado Savings scandal, where taxpayers lost $1B. That's chump change compared to the $5T the elder Bush brother racked up in less than a decade reign of terror. You gotta feel sorry for GHWB & Barbara. 1 outta 3 ain't very good results for raising sons, but I guess you take what you can git (sic).

roundthebuoys 1,004
You would think Polesmoker, Malarkey and the Catamoron woul be in here berating Jeb Bush over these outrageous comments. You would think.
MSG 4
It's obvious the Liberal Media is twisting Jeb's words.
Sol Rosenberg 10,116
I'm surprised this issue hasn't gained traction. I've been saying much the same thing for quite a while, and others (Jeff, for one) have sounded like they recognize the same problem(s).
Not My Real Name 3,591
You would think Polesmoker, Malarkey and the Catamoron woul be in here berating Jeb Bush over these outrageous comments. You would think. The silence from the PA Clown Squad is deafening on this one.
Chuck D. 23
Patience, BJ. The head of the clown party hasn't issued his directive on this yet. Probably dithering or something.
Rumbulls 15
I've alway's like Jeb.... And thought that he would've given Obama a much better fight than McCain.
Sol Rosenberg 10,116
I've alway's like Jeb.... And thought that he would've given Obama a much better fight than McCain. Like I said, he was pretty good in action. For me, he represents a true conservative voice, which is a nice alternative to the stupidity of the screaming clown contingent currently controlling The Party. Unfortunately, his brother kinda screwed the family pooch for him.
